it's because most of us are insanely silly (that's fun to say insanely silly biggrin ) . Just think of the things most ppl talk about on a daily basis -_-
I go to school, look around, and say no wonder Hiei dislikes humans.

Haha, I just facepalm. XD
Yeah, Hiei probably hates the general hypocrisy and materialism of the human race, as well as their sentimental values and lack of physical strength. It's important when writing a HieixOC fanfic that your OC doesn't have those types of values and interests, or else it just won't work. : )

I hate when the OCs turn out too much like the character you know they are going to end up with >_<

I hate that too! Oh my goodness! You have NO idea how much that bugs the CRAP outta me. I mean, both people need to bring SOMETHING into the relationship! And people who are too similar just will find nothing to talk about, along with no development or crisis within the relationship to make it interesting, much less WORTHWHILE.

heheh *finds an advertising opprotunity*
AND THAT'S WHY HIEI AND KURAMA ARE GOOD TOGETHER
XDDDDDDDD
No but seriously, it is good for the two people to bring something. Their differences are what bring them together.
All the YYH boys do not want to love someone like them.

Oh my gosh... I love that line. Quote: All the YYH boys do not want to love someone like them. Dude, because it's so freakin' true. THINK about it. Kurama would not want to love someone like him. Yusuke would NOT want to love someone like him. Kuwabara, it just wouldn't WORK to love someone like him. And Hiei wouldn't want to either. Sorry, but, one of the reasons I love my OCxHiei so much. (You're right, advertising opportunity. ; D)It's no wonder they all love who they do. KeikoxYusuke. KuwabaraxYukina... You know what I find interesting. You'd agree that Kuwabara stands for justice, no? I think it's very very interesting that he's in a relationship with Yukina, someone who stands more for kindness and humanity, you know?

Kuwabara stands for honor!!!!!! wooohoot!
Hahaha so can your OC take Kurama? Jk Jk. I'll give your OC a try X3. I don't mind as long as she isn't too much like Hiei or the "perfect" match. There is no such thing as soul mates (though Kuwabara might disagree XD). I don't like how people say it was "just meant to be". No, both ppl have to work and no one is perfect. Saying "you're perfect for me" just puts on too much pressure.

Hahah it's funny. Kurama might be one of matches a reader would try to push through. Haha. I actually considered one at some point (I consider romantic relations with...just about all characters at some point in my writing, hahaha!) but decided it didn't work best for my story, though did decide just to make their companionship a rather awesome one.
As for "soulmates?" Well, my OC and I share that belief in common, however, I can't really say Hiei's is hers. Thinking about it, she doesn't necessarily lose that belief over the course of the story, she just goes more in depth with it as she matures. One of her character developments is that she starts off as very very naive and just having a pretty set idea on how the world works, but over courses of events that changes as she's introduced to more situations and exceptions and trials.
Sorry, I'm rambling about my story. Shoot me. Haha XD

I ramble on about my rp so you can ramble about this XD
Her development sounds like the kind all the characters went through *nods* Which is a good sign that it won't be awful.
I'm glad you didn't set your mind to finding a soul mate for Hiei and considered everyone as a match. It means your character was made to be them and not just for another character..if you understand what I'm saying..
Yeah I don't so much believe in soul mates..course I don't really believe anything XD I just admit that it's possible.

My OCs are specifically tailored to fit their pairings...which I find nothing wrong with. They aren't identical to the characters, and if I didn't do it this way then the canon characters would be OOC. AND THAT'S NEVER FORGIVABLE!
I don't believe in soul-mates, love at first sight, God...or anything along those lines. xd

Hahaha. I would love to make a tailored fitting couple, but have failed numerous times. I have somewhat poor perceptions of the characters and am far too committed to my current OC to come up with another to couple with a character.
I like that my character is an individual too. I think it'll just make it more fun for the reader. Although the story does include HieixOC, I do love to make good scenes with all the characters so that the reader has that freedom to kinda go, "Psh, Sachiko's gonna end up with Yusuke...in my head." Haha XD

Well I think all writers have different methods..I prefer to make up two characters then use situations to give them a common link. But of course..you do kind of have to make them fit each other some so they end up together XDD I just don't like when they fit like a nice soft sock...It should be an old sock that has to be washed first and mended before it will exactly fit...I don't know..that analogy was just weird XD
And making the character actually have a believable relationship with the other characters is a must!

Hahaha! I LOVE your analogy! XD But no, I agree. Relationships should definitely build. I mean, instant connection is cool and all. Look at Yusuke and Kurama. However, building is even cooler, especially if you can do it AFTER an initial connection. And I really do like your analogy, eartian, because in a relationship, especially in a storyline like Yu Yu Hakusho where all the characters have pretty rundown, broken pasts, and things constantly attempt to destroy them further, it's important that each person puts forth effort into the relationship, and works past rough spots because they just really want to be together.
