If I made my own game, I would make the starting town on top of a giant mushroom and all the NPCs would wear purple jumpsuits. Then to leave the starting town, you would have to jump off the top of the mushroom and die. domokun domokun domokun domokun

lol I think there was game where there arms could get broken and things but didnt become that famous. But yeah thats a cool idea 3nodding
Yeah. Wasn't it Fight Club? But you can't make a fighting game based off that, because the movie was mostly psycological- crazy- cool s**t, which is what made it good. That's why you can't replicate it with a game. You can't capture the essence of the movie. stare That's the problem with the movie- game/ game- movie transition. (Advent Children is one of the exceptions. There are others, but that's the big one.)

ah right right. But if watched and made nicely it could be something. I want to see a movie be turned into a RPG. It would be so bad yet amusing. See I said movie then game not game then movie xp

Here's just an idea. Make a story on the battle that ended the existence of magical creatures. It might already be taken, but you could put your own style into it. sweatdrop

Make an RPG where you have to lose, and the bad guy has to win! mrgreen But, of course, you'd need a really cool villan, and probably a really sucky MC that everyone would hate.

lol but then word would get around that the game sucks if they would hate the main charcater and you cant win. Unless theres going to be a second game.

I am very much in to the fantasy genre and it’s really easy to make games in that field because you have a large supply of base materiel.

I got an idea for a horror game that I will probably start writing. I want it to be back inthe settler era where people were moving out west. A girl leaves her campsite for a night and gets involved with a bizarre sacrificial indian culture. At first I wanted to put a dog in there too, but then it'd be an awful lot like Haunting Ground or Rule of Rose.

If I made a game there are several things I would make sure of:

1: Delightful soundtrack-appropriate music for every level/stage/area.

2: Good, clean, easy-to-see graphics. Nothing pisses me off more than not being able to figure out where I'm supposed to go or what my character is looking at because the graphics are wonky.

3: Fabulous story (I'm a big fan of RPGs like Secret of Mana or ChronoTrigger; they're not as long as the FF games but they still have serious meat to them)

4: 2 player! (or more, if possible/applicable). I own nearly 30 games for various systems ranging from the Gameboy Colour to the GameCube and I only have 8 that are two player, or more. It's just more fun to be able to play a game WITH someone, you know? At least I think so.

Since I'm looking to get into a career of game design, I think I could provide a few pointers.

1.) Never share your ideas with anyone but your crew. Doing otherwise is a good way to have them stolen.

2.) Be throrough. Don't rush through and then call it a game. Make it what you want it to be.

3.) Don't take shortcuts. Way too many games do this any suffer for it.

4.) Get a good crew. Just because your friends wants to help doesn't mean they have the skills.

5.) Find an audience. Every game has a specific target audience. Find yours and stick with it.

6.) Be open. Listenning to other people might make the game just that much better.

7.) Stick to a theme. If it's one thing I hate about games, it's games that constantly try to change game play or art styles in rough, frantic ways.

Hope that helps.
