Or basically any sibling/relative/slimy peanut-smelling monster.

Laast Christmas I was practicing for our band's concert. It was on my brother's day off work and he was sleeping in. Two O'clock in the afternoon, and I wasn't going to wait any longer to practice. So after about ten minutes of my playing he storms out of his room and grabs onto my flute! He tried to haul it from me so instead of letting it get damaged I just let him take it. He said he'd only give it back if I stopped playing. After a long argument, and a phonecall to my mother ( xp ) I got to continue practicing.

But guess what that b*****d did! stressed When he grabbed on, he bent some of the keys! gonk

It was months before my precious was fixed, and in my luck I had no flute to practice with. I felt so.. wrong. It was terrible. emo

So my question is, has anything like this ever happened to you?

Can a floor attack your instrument?

About 6 years ago, I was practicing my clarinet a few hours before all-country rehearsal. I left my case in the kitchen (which has tile floor) and I took my clarinet out in the kitchen to put it up for the drive to rehearsal. I dropped the upper joint of my clarinet on the tile, pretty much taking out the bottom two bridge keys (and this was when I only had one clarinet).

I was lucky and got a rental instrument for rehearsal, thank god. sweatdrop

i am glad that i have carpet in my room. and your brother is complaining about flute practice?!? did he at least pay for your bent keys on your flute? waht you need to do next is to get a piccolo and blow that crap into his ear. oh, and make sure that the piccolo is kept safe afterwards...

He didn't pay. He would never support my flute in any way. Any.

Hopefully I'll be getting a piccolo soon. If I do, his ears will never be the same. And since the piccolo I would be getting belongs to the school... hehehehehehe. He wouldn't be able to touch it.

My picollo needs a pad replaced, otherwise, it's fine. Freakin' ebay instruments.

The floor and my case attacked my old flute. The latches didn't work (I was walking back from band to class) and they caught on something. I didn't even know untill I heard the crash of the flute meeting the floor. What a horrible, terrible, horrific, painful noise. Somehow all the keys, the main body and the footjoint escaped only with a couple of scratches. But their was this HUGE dent in the joint between the head and the main body. It was so bad there was no way I could even put it together without getting it fixed.

Luckily, we brought it that night and it was done in a couple of minutes.

And, once again, luckily, my new flute's case has a zipper so there is no way it's opening in the middle of the hallway, and even if the zipper fails, there is this velcro thing that attaches the handles of the case together, so even then it can't open up and suddenly spill into the middle of the hallway.

okay floors and cousins count. on the first day i had my drum set my dad assembled it but forgot to tighten the thingies that hook the two toms on. so i was playing when one fell off. now my mom had just paid a lot to get my drums knew heads cause they're hand-me downs from my cousin. so i was playing and one fell off! my mom ran upstairs and said is the floor okay. i was totally shocked at her answer anyhow the drum was fine but the floor was chipped. it was kinda funny though. my dad fixed it later.

then there was the time my cousin took a pen and poked holes in the bottom of my snare drum.

and i'm sorry about your flute.
