There has recently been a new guild created specifically for debates and arguements that may offend some. It is thus largely exclusive, but there is a short period when entry is allowed. If you would like to join and can explain possible credentials, please feel free to PM me.

I'm sorry for my long absence guys, but it was kind of hard keeping track when one has a 120km commute and several subjects to study for.

I haven't been paying much attention to the news lately. Is there anything that I should know about? By this, of course, I mean the lates t government outrage, not who won the Super bowl or how many medals the U.S. has in the olympics. I'm talking about actual news.

Hello everyone. I was recently accepted into the guild and didn't see an introductory thread, so I hope it's not a problem that I post it here.

Anyway, call me Faith. I love the arts, specifically illustration/drawing and film. I'm currently striving to make two films by the end of next summer and attend a community college and university. I love to draw in my free time and do some Gaia commissions. I also work in a medical office as an administrative assistant.

I'm not sure whether I consider myself a Libertarian or not. I joined the guild to learn more about Libertarian views to determine my stance on their issues. I do consider myself a moderate, leaning towards conservative.

Feel free to talk to me anytime. I enjoy intellectual discussions and getting to know others. Thank you for accepting me into the guild.

Hey, you guys know what this place needs? A canadite list. Yes, a list of Libertarians running for office, what office they're running for, and when the election is. Just a thought, but its a pretty good one.

Well, my 21st birthday is coming up (late January), and I intend on buying a gun as soon as I am able. From some of the more experienced libertarians here, what kind of gun would you suggest for me?
I'm not experienced, but I am responsible.
I don't hunt, but I have a good aim. I know about recoil and all that, but when I say "good aim", I mean via archery.
Also, what should I look for, and are there some other things I should know?

I don't know if I qualify as experienced...

But anyway, I'd recommend going to the range and trying out different kinds of guns before you decide on one. Many come in .40, .45, and 9mm, also there are 'baby' guns for some types. You want to make sure you get the right size so you don't mangle your thumb or anything when you shoot.

I'm also thinking about getting a gun, and so far I like glocks. They aren't terribly big, there's no safety, smooth operation, and I had a lot fewer misfirings at the range. By fewer, I mean none. The price is better than for some other guns, and glocks seem to be very popular. All the police stations in my area use them, anyway.

Thanks! I'll have to try it out. My roomate is thinking about renewing his FOID card and getting a gun. He's a vet, so if I can get him to take me to a range, that'd be great.

FOID card? Never heard of those before... Clearly you live in a state that scores above a D in "gun safety" laws.

Going to a range to shoot is a lot of fun, and it's great if you have someone you can go with who can help you learn. Some shooting ranges may also offer classes to teach you how to clean a gun, or maybe your roommate could teach you. That's something I need to look into too.

That's the thing, I don't know. We just moved to a different state. The one I lived in before required one.

Well, this seems to be the nonsense thread, so here's as good a place as any to say I'm throwing a "End of Campaign Season" party, mainly to celebrate the fact that after starting November 9, I'll be able to watch T.V. and open my mailbox without being bombarded with the nonstop campaign ads. I don't think that the Election of Either Donald Trump OR Hillary Clinton is anything to celebrate, but the end of the nearly inescapable political onslaught certainly is.

Hey, the threads title is "Anything in General," so this was probably the best place to post this.
