I get a lot of mixed reactions for being a backyard wrestler...for one thing, I can't wrestle and I'm not trying to learn the other response s that I supposedly am doing a good job and I just need to learn how to take bumps...and such I did this thread for reasons, for one, to discuss backyard wrestling and what one thinks of it, another is to sorta bring out a new aspect of wrestling and lastly, to get some people in here Stereotypes 1. Overly HardcoreThe use of things such as glass, barbed wire and most notoriously, light tubes.Contradiction : some backyarders (specifically me)...tend to think that's a bit ludacris, and really REALLY STUPID 2. WWE Marks some are supposed to be heavily involved w/ WWE and suchContradiction some backyarders are big fans of feds like CZW...but as for me, I'm a big Ring of Honor Fan 3. Non-Wrestler the common flame "LEARN TO WRESTLE!"Reason/Contradiction okay, this is a common reason, if backyarders kknew how to wrestle, would they be backyarding, some backyarders actually do know how to wrestle but some people never actually notice it. Some Backyarders don't have any money to pay to go to wrestlign school yet but do plan to go to one in the near future. Some backyarders just do it because they are bored...the fact is...backyarders are doing there thing...bar none

(I never got to see the video because my computer's being a moron, once I fix it I'll comment on it. Damn technology...)
I haven't ever seen any backyard wrestling, it's probably miles away, which is kinda weird, but my friend might start up his own thing. I wouldn't mind trying it myself, but my parents would probably kill me. xp

I don't over use hardcore wrestling, infact me and my friends barely do that, the only weapons we use are just paint cans (( Clean and empty )), and use some chains, but they are small, plus you've got to take a while to get use to it since one thing, we use a trampoline.

I don't like to use weapons, I use the ring as a weapon sometimes like the ropes and stuff, the kid that I wrestle has a horrible ring in his backyard but I use it a lot...it's a lot of fun, but painful
I hate using things like barbed wire and glass...I use Old school hardcore stuff like tables, ladders and chairs...but the overly hardcore stuff don't even look cool anymore
I like to WRESTLE though, chain wrestling, spotfests etc. I enjoy that sorta stuff

The only problem that I have with backyard wrestling is the lack of good rings. I hate using the trampoline because it's harder to move around and if you want to do any good submission, it's easier to counter. Not only that, the idea of getting a spring into my eye never really excited me. sweatdrop

That's enough bumps for me in my life. lol

when my group and I wrestle, the most hardcore stuff we;ve used are 1 steel chair (which no longer has two of it's legs...) ladders a playstation (the big, blocky kind, and yes, we used it once) pop cans and belts
we'd like to use a table, but it's only good once... and we don't have a ring, nor do we do trampoline wrestling/ we use the ground. we WISH we had a ring, cuz that ground hurts a LOT more than a wrestling/boxing ring. Also, for the most part we really wrestle. At least two of us plan to be professionals someday, so we don't want to mess up our bodies too badly (yet).
