Origin Myth
In the beginning, there was an egg. Everything that was, is, and would be was locked up tight in that lockless treasure chest. When the egg hatched, feathers like light spread out, and Soliel stood from the pieces of her sleep.
She smiled, because she existed, and her smile became the stars. She laughed, because of the lights, and her breath made the clouds. She cried, because the clouds were so fair, and her tears were moons that hung in the canopy of sky.
As Soliel clapped and danced, the earth grew out of her footsteps. Creatures walked from her songs. Peoples of many kinds came from her and she was glad to watch them and teach them. However, with knowledge came strife, the will to dominate and the list for power and favour. Soliel was saddened by this. To create hierarchy a stable hierarchy of those who would rule, she plucked feathers from her wings and made Lune, her beloved.
Together with Lune, celestial bodies were gathered and taught, given breath and soul. When they were ready, the bodies took a shape like their mothers and fell to the earth from the sky. These are the Shutensa.
In the time since Lune’s first breaths, the Shutensa have become as varied and wondrous as the peoples and animals they were meant to guide – for good and evil. One thing remains the same, they are the chosen of the land, and they move its’ ways. They alone have the spark of Lune and Soliel’s magic in their very blood, and should it ring true, a new supreme body may enter rulership and contest with the heavens.
