Hey my school's doing this play and I think I'll like it, but does anyone familiar with the play have advice??

Be careful with this one. Its clever and all, and it has it's moments, but don't take it too far. ^_^
Yes, I loved it. But it's just the way we did it.

Weird, we just did it last year.
I was in it. I was a town person and it's my advice that you work for one of the only three female parts: Sofia, the mother, or the vendor (wow, names have totally escaped me. They'll probably come to my mind later in the day at random) Otherwise, you're hardly in the production.
But it was a really fun show to do otherwise.

lord_illpalazzo At my school, we are Going to do Rumors by the same guy. Its funny. that was my first production in high school. I loved that play, it made me laugh and was a lot of fun to do. I played Claire Ganz.

I kinda thought my high school production could have done it much better, but it was still pretty good. I was Lenya the mother.

How in the world did somebody else put this up before me? O-o
Some seniors from my college are directing this play in February. I wanted to be Lenya (that's the name of the mother, yes?) really badly but I didn't make it. I'm really mad about it, too. I think it's because I was remembered by them as that incompetent freshman ASM from The Secret Garden. Oh well.
It's a cute play, not my favorite. The jokes in the play are stupid, kind of like a childrens' play, but the humor is much more adult. Very strange. I guess it was a pretty big flop on Broadway, it only had like 40 some performances. But I guess that's because it's so strange.

we did this show this year, i was cast as the magistrate. it's a cute show and has to be played right so the people aren't played like total idiots. they really beileve what they are saying is right and good, so the actors can't make them silly or anything.
but the show is great. i loved it :]
