Okay. Before I start my spiel, I'll give you some back history. The Banner Singers are composed of 10-15 girls at our school, usually 3-5 in each section (That being Alto, Sop 2, and Sop 1). We're the best singers of our choir, we sing the national anthem a capella every home game (except for half of the basketball games and most of the football games, when the band does the national anthem).
Auditions were today, 24 girls tried out (About 12 from last year's group, including me). We were to sing it in groups of 6, then groups of 3. (Except for my group, because a freshman thought she was an alto and did NOT have the low range, so our director had me sit down and let the freshman sing the Soprano 1 range.) After we tried out, the director looked at the list again for a little bit, which had us wondering if she was going to tell us who got in right then- and she did- but not the way we expected. She just told us we ALL got in (Even the ones who didn't know their part and couldn't sing all that well) and we sang next thursday.
I do understand why the director did what she did, though. Next year, most of last year's bunch will leave (I think it's 7 girls), and there are only two girls that can sing well (and DO sing, more like it) coming into High School next year, so to keep numbers up, she has to get a bunch in now so they can learn it.
But it's still kind of frustrating.

yeah i kinda get where you're coming from.
its frustrating to have people who have no clue what they're doing especially if they don't deserve to be there.
BUT they will learn as they go along so when all those people leave, they'll know more for next year.
