The job requirements of a Paladins:
Complete your assigned job with good sense, patience, and good will.
Leave all threads on a Paladin's topic to that Paladin.
Amendment:
Quote:
If a thread that another Paladin would normally cover gets to 13 posts, and that Paladin hasn't said anything, you may post something in there.
Do not torment newbies.
No flaming. Use good judgment in this, we don’t want The Paladins getting a bad reputation, now do we.
New Paladins can be recruited if the High Council of the Paladins agree to admit that person.
All Paladins will defend the integrity of other Paladins. If someone is slandering a fellow Paladin, stand up for them!
Do NOT insult (or anything of that sort) other Paladins. We need to be a tight-knight group, and we can't be fighting amongst ourselves.
If there’s anything you want to see added, let me know.

Education is probably the hardest thing to do in the world. And over the net in simple posts is absolutely one of the most futile things one can embark on. It is however, possible. Even though I am not the leader, I think it is my duty as a High Council member to post some ideas about educating people. It's in "guideline" form. It was just easier to get my thoughts out like this.
1. DO NOT MAKE ONE-LINE POSTS. Hell, I'd even watch out for two liners. Even if you are tired and have said the same thing several times in the past hour, if you want to make an educated post, please go for at least a paragraph. Or don't post, its just spam otherwise.
2. Misplaced/Repeat Threads. Okay, I thought that it might be better to just PM the maker of the thread and not post. I know, it doesn't get you gold, but forget that for the time being. If you post, it brings the spam thread back to the top. PM the person and say the following:
1. Your thread is Misplaced/a repeat.
2. Ask them to change the name of the thread to "Sorry" Or "My bad" or something of that nature.
3. Don't keep bumping it up by posting "Hey, stop posting here", because that just adds more spam. Where as PMing them, and the thread title being changed, then the thread sinks.
4. If they fail to co-operate, PM a mod. This is where it falls out of out jurisdiction. The mods and only the mods have the power to move and delete threads and such.
3. Dont try to be a leader. Be a friend. That's the best way we can accomplish what we hope to do. As soon as we start being mean, or authoritative, we over step our bounds as just helpful users. We become assholes. The likely-hood of these posters being newbs are very, very high. Only because they don't understand how it works. Remember, we want more nice and happy people on Gaia. It doesn't help to be mean. If they are newbs, then we shouldn't give them the wrong idea.
4. Patience. They just might not get it the first time, and that's okay. You and I were both newbs once ( ninja don't tell), and we have all been there. Gaia can be a little confusing at times, so it might be hard for them to get it. Especially if they just stumbled upon the forum one day.
5. Do it with a Smile. This is probably the most important thing we can do. I know, it can be real hard sometimes, because we really hate what the person is doing, or what they are saying, but as soon as we lose out temper, we start flaming, and that's what we are totally against.
There, I hope that might have helped. I bet all of us already knew all these things, but I thought it would be a good idea to get them out so we have something to refer to.
