I like whatever I find that I don't like.
Most of what I like are about school boys.
Some are action...okay only two action. (not a fan of Mirage of Blaze at all)
I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like. So...yeah.

It will hugely depend on the manga in question.
The same way I react differently to fanfiction and fanarts, it will depend on the quality of the piece and not per se its genre. By quality I do not mean the aesthetics, but merely the thoughts, the effort, the coherence, the plot, the way it's told or drawn... Many factors will influence my choices.
If searching for something though, I do not often go blind and starts with things that contains steamy parts. That way, if I do not find the quality up to my tastes, then at least I've had eye-candy. wink
But really, any manga were the uke (or seme!) isn't a girl, were nobody gets raped 'until they like it', no shota, no perpetual angst, were I can have an inkling of the whereabouts of the characters instead of fields upon fields of screentones and where the art is clear enough I can see who's who- well, I'm good. xd

I like yaois with a stortline...sometimes.
Yaoi's set in feudal japan are cool as long as they end well. Anything where I get to see hotties in Hakama or Eupopean Military Uniform (I love Black Knight).
I know this is a little off topis but I also like Yaoi where both the seme and uke look like men. Not jailbait school boys, but grown, lean, sexy men. I love Haru wo Daite Ita, because both the seme and uke are yummy.

For manga, I'm drawn in by pretty art most of all. Aside from that... cute love-love pairs, snarky love-hate relationships, teacher/student pairs, or really good kink...
Plot and humor are also wonderful when combined with smut. ^_^

im most attracted to the master/slave type stories. there has to be explicit sex and bondage whee but those are few and far between.
anything by ayano yamane is awesome. fantasy based stories and stuff like that.
