Read literature dealing with the Vikings or other Pagan groups - preferrably war-oriented ones (hence the Vikings).

Paganism (from Latin paganus, meaning "a country dweller" or "civilian") is a blanket term which has come to connote a broad set of western spiritual or religious beliefs and practices of natural or polytheistic religions, as opposed to the Abrahamic monotheistic religions.
Thank you wikipedia.
Um, check out American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It has a nice perspective on pagan beliefs and gods of yore.

DISCLAIMER: I do NOT claim to be an expert on this s**t, so dont flame me for this. However, I DO know quite a bit about many different religions, Jesus-God related and otherwise. Also, for any Wicca that may see this, just shut the ******** up before you mouth off about s**t. Nothing personal, but I've been bitched at by way too many b***h-a** Wicca as of late. Almost my entire family is Wicca, I'm not ******** retarded.
I'm sure the disclaimerwasnt necessary in this community, but I add it to all the posts I make about anything involving religion. Just habit. . . wink
Pagan is widely considered to be anything that isnt Catholic or Christian in nature (but only by Catholics and Christians), and more accurately known as any religion that is NOT monotheistic in nature (monotheist meaning they worship only one entity). This includes but is not limited to the ancient Romans and Greeks (multiple gods, see what im saying?), ancient Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, and any other native americans, as well as the modern ones, and the Vikings. I'm sure i missed something there, but again, i wasnt making a definitive list. Also included in the blanket adjective Pagan is the several forms of Wicca and Witchcraft. Blah Blah Blah, etc etc. I hope that gets the point accross.
Anyway, enough of my babbling.
I really am not good at lyrics like this. . . most of mine are very personal and vaguely similar to poems of the Romantic Period of poetry. . . I just can't pull off the who epic-pagan-warriors-battling-omfg stuff.

there is also a more specific celtic religion known as paganism. like many things, the blanket term comes from a specific term. think zip-loc bags and q-tips.

Wikipedia has no mention of this. More that it means rural. Would you please back up your claim?
