Now that we have all the image-filled posts out of the way, here are the walls of text! No, not really, but here are the rules for the Contest system, as well as how the contests will be broken down.
Contest Moves, as well as more info on all the leaders can be found on the contest moves thread in the main forum.
HereBasic Rules:~Multiple people may take on a Contest leader for a town/region at the same time, however, it is not required. You may also do a one-on-one match with the leader. However, you can gain better rewards from participating in multiple-user contests. This can range from exp boosts, items, to rare berries that make better poffins/pokeblocks.
~If multiple people take on the leader at the same time, anyone who scores higher than the leader will earn a ribbon confirming that they won against the leader, however, better bonus prizes are given to better ranks.
~NPC contest participants may also appear in a match, especially for Champion matches.
~HOWEVER- If you are participating in a contest with multiple other users, it is required that you be active in posting. If something comes up and you cannot post after more than two days without any notice, your turn for that round may be skipped. We do understand that real life takes priority, but we don't want to be waiting for a week for one person while everyone else in the RP is stuck in limbo while we wait for a Pokemon to move. xD
Rounds are broken down as such:1) Appeal. Lasts for one round, one post per contestant.
~Poffins/Pokeblocks give bonuses for appeal points. Each contest participant must provide a Poffin/Pokeblock Log that accounts for up to 12 poffins fed to their Pokemon. Different snacks add different amounts of bonuses to a specific type. Once you feed 12 poffins, that's it. You cannot undo a lower level poffin in favor of a higher one. Be careful in raising your future contest champs.
~Additional items that can be won from contests may also come into play later to add additional bonuses. I.E. Scarves and accessories.
~Describe your Pokemon, make him/her seem pretty. They can be dressed up, or groomed to perfection. Moves within their arsenal can be used to enhance their appearance, such as using a Bubble to make shimmering orbs around your water type. Just no Hypnosis-ing the judges into brainwashing them. ;D Better posts gain more points from judges.
~Post your Pokemon and its stats, along with what their total Poffin/Pokeblock boosts recieved are at the top of your post.
~At the end of the Appeal portion, points are added up to determine the rankings.
1st place: +10 points
2nd place: +7 points
3rd place: +5 points
4th place: +3 points
~These points are then added to the final scores from the performance rounds to determine the overall winner.
2) Performance. Lasts for four rounds, four posts total from each entrant.
~Rounds are turn-based. First round order is generated randomly by the acting "judge" (aka mod) for the Contest.
~Moves that are in sync with the type of contest earn more points, and raise the voltage of the judge. Moves that are of a different type earn one less Appeal Heart than they would from a Contest of the same type. They also lower the voltage of the judge performed for one level.
~Judges have 5 Voltage Points. Reach the max, and get an extra 5 Appeal Hearts added to that round's score. The voltage gague then resets back down to 0.
~Bonus Appeal Points are given to more detailed posts. The better the rp post, the better the reaction from the acting judges.
~You can also receive bonus appeal points for performing to a judge that no one else appealed to that round. Leaders and NPCs will perform for a randomly generated judge.
Points are added up at the end, combining both Appeal and Performance scores to end up with a final total.
