 ((so far..)) The nights were long, and the wind a bone-shattering cold. Once the chill slipped beneath your pelt, it spread like ice-fire and burned beneath your skin and muscle, settling there and none too keen on budging. The pack had stopped its movement and found shelter to wait out the winter storm. There were only 5 of them left, the pups unfortunately had not been old enough and their coats could not thicken in time for the freeze. Their mother had stayed with them, nuzzling their still bodies into her warm belly fur, giving every last bit of warmth she had to them. Now the pack had made it to the valley, where most of the forest animals had fled to as the smell of harsh winter storms stung their noses. Deeper still into the ravines was a large lake which had dried many years ago and since had grown a lush pool of vegetation. During the cold season, the pack came here to hide away from the harsh weather. The first generations dug out a deep den from the soft dirt, and here the pack returned year after year to hide themselves away until spring sprouted from the cold dead ground. For the moment, however, it would be suicide for the pack to continue for the den. And so they made due in an abandoned bear's den. It was rocky and offered little insulation, as the edge of the entrance had worn away considerably, and the dank stale smell of bear still lingered in the crevices. But the pack was in no condition to complain.
Ikkume lied alongside his beloved, Allenei. They offered each other their warmth and love. Allenei was a darling creature, her coat sustaining the light hues of peach, pink and lavender. Spring was forever instilled within her personality. Warmth radiated from her large amber eyes. Her head rest across Ikkume's shoulder, her gaze far into the distance. Wind roared across the opening and snow skittered into the depths of the den. The dusty colored male ran his pale but warm tongue over his love's muzzle, pulling her out of her distant daydream. She smiled up at him and nuzzled deep into his thick winter coat, breathing in his scent. Nearby lay their gunmetal grey alpha male, Naille. It was his mate who stayed behind with her helpless pups. Wandering around the confined space was also Shai, a restless young femme whose fur held a deep dark blue with patches of black and a streak of silver down her back. She paced, obviously unsettled by their unfamiliar and confined setting. Shai's sister, Mae, was much different in personality and color, making them hardly recognizable as littermates. Her pelt held a variety of red earthy tones, the brightest reds melting from her spine down to the pale peach on her stomach. A dark brown mask covered her face. Mae was a sweet young wolf with a heavy appetite, and strict family loyalty. She would happily give her life for those she loved.
The five wolves held together the remainder of their pack. Everyone seemed agitated. Shai paced restlessly, Mae lie with her head rested on her paws staring out the den entrance. Naille tried to stay in one position, but shifted constantly, always looking back out the opening. Allenei remained snuggled against Ikku, and Ikku wrapped his body around her protectively. Mae whined, "Are we going to be able to eat soon? I'm starved." Naille growled at her irritably and she drew away, glancing to the others for support. Shai rolled her eyes, but she had to agree. Ikku sighed and looked at his mate, but she was drifting to sleep. "Maybe when the snow lets up, a few of us can go hunt down some rabbits who may have gotten caught in the storm. But it will be difficult to find much," the sandy male explained. Mae huffed pathetically, earning herself another eyeroll from her sister.
Ikku felt Allenei stir against him and he quickly tucked her muzzle beneath his chin soothingly. He heard her chuckle into his fur. "I have a secret to tell you, Ikku," she said softly. He blinked, wondering what she was talking about, and gave an inquiring look, "What might that be? I hope you don't plan to keep it from me. That wouldn't be very nice." She chuckled again, "No, no, I fully intend to tell you, I'm only waiting for the right time." Ikkume ran his tongue along the side of her muzzle, wordlessly telling her to take her time and that there was no rush. She lay her head against his chest and sighed, closing her eyes.
The femme woke up hours later to find that the light that had been filtering in from the mouth of the den had been cut off, whether it be because of the snow or sunset. Ikku was soundly sleeping against her, his head resting just beside hers. The other wolves were scattered around the den, asleep. She gently nuzzled the male awake, "Ikku?" He stirred, then quickly turned to look at her, "Allenei? What's wrong?" She shook her head reassuringly, "Nothing's wrong. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have woken you," she smiled abashedly. He yawned, beginning to fully awaken now. "No worries. Are you sure nothing's wrong?"... to be continued

Talia~
A young beauty that Ikku has been quite taken with. Their meeting was rather cataclismic, colliding into each other when they both dove for the same meal. Since then Ikku has taken the young femme for a second dinner. He enjoys her company very much, and only finds himself more interested the more he learns about her. She brings out the pup in Ikku, and he finds himself making some rather foolish mistakes he would normally never do.
Whisper~
This little darling has been one of Ikku's oldest friends since he came to the area. He met her when she was still very much a pup, and very new to the world. He was able to watch her grow to be a much more confident and very beautiful adolescent, and wishes only the best for her.
Kamali~
This male is Whisper's older sibling, and is actually the very first wolf Ikku encountered once coming here. Ikku was very impressed with Kamali's calm and mature nature, even for the young wolf he was. But now he is grown and making his own living, and Ikku only hopes to run into him again and catch up on how life has been for the male.
Flora~
A very pretty little pup, Ikku only just met with her, but very much enjoyed the little femme's modest and timid, but curious personality.
Calico~
Ikku only met this little male for a moment, and even in that moment he was very withdrawn. Ikku was introduced to him by his old friend Whisper, and the pup was quite timid. The older male can only hope he didn't scare the pup too much, and that their next meeting will be a little more successful.
