A couple days ago, I got a new hard drive... great deal: 30gb IDE, 7200rpm for $80.

Anyway, that got me thinking about hard drives. Does anyone know how Linux SATA support is? Does it work with most SATA hard drives, or what?

In response to the title, yes, the guild is pretty much dead. sweatdrop I disappeared for a few months for a work and business related trip and people stopped coming by, it seems~

In response to the post, I'm not a linux buff, so unfortunately I can't respond. Perhaps somebody will still check by and notice it. smile

I have 2 SATA hard drives.
One is 200 GB and the other is 80 GB

Wow...your hard drive is EXPENSIVE!!!
i got my 200 GB 7,200 rpm SATA hard drive for $80 or something...but i bought the product from the country where it is manufactured.

ALthough only the 200 GB one works but then again-i used the disk utility that comes with Linux(Administration-Disks)

but iam going offtopic...
just to tell you, YES linux does support SATA. And quite well i have to say.
