Warnersister Keptan ...I played Sonic R on my PC; it was bleh, but I liked the music in spite of its cheesiness. I have to admit to a love of that music as well. I have quite a lot of it lurking in the car - even a traffic jam isn't so bad with "Back in Time" playing smile DW (Starts to sing) So take me baaack in tiiime, To another wooorrrlld, Where you can be mine, We don't have to worry, When you're BY MY SIDE, There's nothing to deny, There's nothing to decide, But the waayyy we want to goooo...

The thought of trying to play a multiplayer fighting game with a single seyvoard doesn't bear thinking about, does it? I'd have visions of either dislocating something or tying someone else's fingers in a knot by the time I'd finished.

I have tried fighting games with 2 people on one keyboard, but... ugh. Buffers and the like started causing problems...

Reviving an oldish thread here, but I think it's appropriate since the UK *finally* got Sonic Gems this weekend smile
I had the honour of testing it out with Samwise this weekend. I'm sure he'll have stuff to add about it, but here's my take.
Sonic the Fighters - wowiee! I've not had so much fun in ages! The Force is strong in Amy Rose (as is the pika hammer) and opponents fall like nine-pins. What a rush when you finally beat seven bells out of Metal Sonic (at the nth attempt)!
Sonic R - I hang my head in shame, for I have forgotten the layout of every single level...
Sonic Triple Trouble - seemed a bit jerky to begin with, but either it got better or I got used to it, not sure which. Drat Tidal Plant, I'd forgotten what a major pain in the neck that level was.
The Museum - nice artwork there smile
The credits - nice artwork for Sonic CD I'd not seen before.
Sonic CD - not properly played it yet. American soundtrack. Turns out that was the one I was used to from the PC version anyhow, so I don't know what I'm missing.
So, views from anyone else?
Thought of the Day: Metal Sonic rocks...

Quote: the UK *finally* got Sonic Gems this weekend It just hasn't reached the north yet. As usual Mind you, if I recall correctly, I found Bean to be the best Fighters character... Oh, and Howl's moving castle is indeed good.

Play.com is your friend, Xag smile
Howl's is a pretty good movie in it's own right, but took too many liberties with the source material for me to fully enjoy. Calcifer and Howl are supposed to be bad-tempered, sarcastic and, in fact, quite nasty. Grrr.
Bean is OK, but he's not a patch on Amy and her evil hammer of death biggrin
Samwise, I bow to your greatness at Sonic R. I see I shall have to do much practising...

Bean's peck can shatter shields as well as the hammer, and is quite a bit quicker...
Sonic Gems has now reached Newcastle. I'm just short on money...

*Peaks out his head, after watching the riots on a monitor, in a bunker 300 feet below sea level*
Finished Sonic CD last night, with all 7 Time Stones (death to the one who made the last one so Ged damn hard!) and an interesting note would be that they ditched the credits to allow the outro movie to be full screen, is it my PS2, or does it play really really slow for anyone else? I thought Cosmic and Boom were both exactly 3 minutes... maybe it's just the PS2 version and it's awful loading times.
So, after unlocking all of the museum artifacts for Sonic CD, the only nice things worth looking at are The aforementioned Japanese advert picture, with Eggman holding the Little Planet and Sonic posing on a clock with Amy and Metal inbetween. 2 remixes, one being the chaotic one which was already released (I've heard it years ago), and a new remix of Sonic Boom, which is pretty swish.
Ironically, the "game complete" secret is the UK box art. Go figure
Sonic Fighters is still kicking my butt, but I do suggest trying to press Punch+Barrier+Down while near an enemy. Hilarity ensues.
My next goals are to unlock the Japanese soundtrack for Sonic CD (from what I read, it lets you listen in the jukebox), uping my times on R and Fighters and then getting a start on those darn Game Gear games.
PS: I read you can unlock the Mega Drive games, as boss battle demo. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know smile
EDIT: Turns out the soundtest is US only, as far as I notice. Though it's nice to see Tails in the Tornado, and a picture of The Little Planet in B/G future mode.
