we sit with our sections but other then that the only designated chair is the section leaders. its up to us to seat the rest of our section. which sucks cause im always on the same part, either picc, or first flute. i like a variety but none of thes inmy section can handle the parts because they refuse to practice....

the sections all sit where they should, but the parts get switched around for every song. we have no first chair or anything like that.
Honestly it's better that way, too. it gives the better players who would be first seat get a break every once in a while from the first parts with a second or third, and it helps the players who would normally only be playing third improve by challenging them with a harder part...

we have to sit with our section when we get close to a concert but most of we sit where we want, even for concerts we chose what order our sections are in. I'm the worst clarinet player, but i sit where the First clarinet usually sits and our best usually is right in the middle. I sit next to a really cute trumpet player too!! 4laugh
