I know there's quite a few of us in this guild that are fans of either the book, the movie, or both. So I decided to make a thread about it. Talk about the book, talk about the movie...Whatever you do keep it on the subject of A Clockwork Orange. Now here's my question to you all.......The book or the movie, which do you prefer?

Haven't had time to read the book yet.
The movie is amazing, and Kubrick is one of my favourite directors. A huge step for cinema back when it was released.
Those were the great years for movies, when stories and characters were important, not how many bullets they can edit you ducking.

The book was an interesting look at society and educational if you put the effort in to think about it.
The movie was groundbreaking at the time, however it did not impress me much as I had read the book first and found it to be too outdated.

I saw the movie and I have to say enjoyed it thoroughly. Not perhaps now as controversial or bad as I was expecting but for 1971 I can definitely see how that would have caused a stir. I also like the general social message of the film.

wow. I had completely forgotten about the book. I have seen the movie several times, and it has got to be one of my favorites. I'll have to keep an eye out for the book.
