Everytime I go to church, I start hating it even more each time. The youth group is arrogant, and people pretty much ignore anything I say. They try to help me understand "God" and all that, but they just end up confusing me. Then they give up, and don't talk to me. I just think their bad prechers (sp?}, or maybe I'm just stubborn, and too dumb to understand Christianity. And I'm pretty much the ONLY ASIAN in the whole church. Are they racist against asians? Probably not...But I always feel left out when I go to church, so I usually just sneak out when my mom's "worshipping God", and go outside and just sit there for the rest of the service. If only I had ciggerettes...NAH. But anyways, I'm starting to dread each sunday morning now. I have NOTHING against Christianity, and I still believe in God. But it seems like going to church is starting to be a pain in my a**.

Is your mom the kind of mom that makes you go to church? If she is, maybe suggest going to another church just for one Sunday to see if it's any better for you (as in, you understand what people are saying, and people talk to you, you aren't bored...etc).

And if she isn't the kind of mom that makes you go to church, I guess you could always suggest not going to church at all.

Maybe even come to compromise where you go to church every second Sunday, something. 3nodding Because really, if you aren't quite understanding what they're trying to tell you, and you feel left out there then what is the point in even going? Maybe it's just the way they're trying to explain it that is confusing to you, maybe next time you go, ask them if there's another way they can explain it to you.

I don't know. I went to church once in my entire life, and I hated it because the people treated me horribly and like I was stupid. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate God, or hate church, or hate organized religion (etc, etc). I just hated the way I was treated by that paticular group of people.

Anyways, this is just my opinion-ness. blaugh Do what you think is right. 3nodding

I love your opinion. I have thought of going to a different church, but my mom forces me to go to the one I'm going to now. -__-;;;

Ah, I see. sad

Well, next time you get confused about something, or don't quite understand it, I think your best bet would be to ask someone if there is another way they can explain it. Even if they draw a silly little diagram or something, some people find that easier to understand/comprehend.

And I suppose you could mention to the preacher(s) that you feel like you're being left out/ignored by those in your youth group. Maybe they just haven't realized that they're doing it?

Haha, I hope this makes sense!

Yeah, it makes sense. That's a really good idea! I just have to overcome my shyness and build enough guts to tell the youth pastor what's been going on...or, I could just fully ignore everyone back. rofl

No...I shouldn't ignore them back...-____-;;;;;;;;

I agree with the posts above. You should try talking about your confusion... and who knows... maybe you could get into a healthy debate.... of sorts. I
That... and maybe tell your mother that you should not be feeling so out f place in the house of the Lord... Something must be wrong, ne? Everyone is supposed to feel welcome... right?

You need to go to an Asian Church.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 27, 2006 8:53 pm

Hm. Or maybe you can reason sayin "Going to church does not make me any more christian. For going to church doesn't always mean you believe. I believe in God and I don't wish to go to church anymore."... or somethin like that. =P

Well, my mother had me go to church until i was 19, and not going doesnt make me any less christian.
I think you maybe need to talk with your mom about how you feel about the group?
And if you are too shy, have you considered writing it?

The tone you might use would have to be a pretty reasonable soundish one. =)

To get a good, assured tone, make a list of the points you want to make with her, first. it works for me anyways ^-^
