last concert's of the year are always bummers (though luckily i have two years before i have to pay to be in a choir). the concert was great, but i'll miss all the graduationg seniors (over half of a'capella, our advanced co-ed choir, are graduating). on top of it, the boys choir sang "danny boy" in dedication to danny finne, who was in mens choir and commited suicide a few weeks ago. sigh... i wish i could go to choir in the summer. crying

Yah, final concerts always are sad. It's gonna be really sad for me because it's my last year. So it will my last high school choir concert.. *tear* But hopefully it'll be fun. We have little groups and we're all doing different songs. My group is doing "Please Mr. Postman" and we get to dress up all like 50's or something. So yah, I hope it'll be fun!

I managed to NOT cry at the final concert of my senior year... mainly becuase I hadn't had the opportunity to really get close to the other people in the group. There were only a few of us who went directly into the womens' choir rather than the mixed sophomore level choir, and I was one of them (lucky me).
So I'd had just enough time to enjoy singing with the group... and miss them when I got out of highschool... but not enough time to get all emotional at the last concert.
Other concerts were a different story. I almost cried at the one before District Music Competition because I was literally unable to sing. ._.

oh? mixed choir is the highest level, except for sparties which is invitation only exclusiveness. i didn't cry becasue if figgered the section leader must be strong. and emotionless rock. and i hate crying. i almost did though.

My last concert was a while ago. Probably around May. But, it really sucked. I'm going into the high school so the concert was the last of my "middle school career." So, anyway, throughout middle school I've had a different choir teachers every year. Sixth grade had an awesome teacher. Seventh had a pretty good teacher. She was nice and all, but not all that effiecient. Now, eighth grade, and my final year of middle school choir and I had the worst teacher ever. He couldn't teach us anything and he sat in his office while we had the whole period for free time. We never really worked on singing, we just sat there.
Now, for the final concert, we were already a little emotional. We performed and then the band performed. Right beore their final song, the band teacher said a ton of praising things to the band and she even started crying.
When our final song came, our choir teacher did nothing. My two friends and I even had a "mini-solo" and out teacher didn't even announce who we were. It was so dumb.
I really hated that teacher. High school will be a lot better because the teacher is so nice. I hope... heart

I managed not to cry during my last concert. We only have two levels of choir at my school, so a lot of us had been together for a long time. Also, we had 25 seniors from the music program graduate this year, and I think there were only three band-only seniors, so the choir was hit pretty hard. They're doing major recruiting to be able to make the minimum for state contest next year (We're in the 4A division so we have to have at least 40 members. We had 43 last year. sweatdrop ). But because we had so many seniors, we were pretty close (well some of us, there were a few girls who I wanted to shoot right up through graduation, and I'm not sorry to not have to see until my class reunion). We had the composer of Walking Songs there, and he directed it for our final song and made a recording to send to the distributors. It was absolutely amazing.

During our last concert, I got one a solo, which was probably the only solo in a million years in that choir, so it was special. It was Color of the Wind, and our band (sorry for mentioning band xDDD) was also doing the same song, and a special someone...well, a very close guy friend, nothing more...yet, had a solo in that same song, so it was really neat. Most of us didn't cry, but our goodbye song made a lot of the parents cry cause "their little babies are going to high school." xP

Our last concert of the year was at the beginning of June, I had my first solo surrounded by the best frinds in the whole world. And then, I cried. I was like the only person, but I got a call from one of the other girls in my choir, and we sat there moping on the phone because we miss it so much.
