Anger still flushed through Akira as he walked down the hallways. Unsure at the moment on where he was going; maybe he just wanted to walk it off.
That nightmare though, it felt so real to him. It could only mean one thing in his mind - He was getting that much closer to insanity. The point of no return.
Aerin could help him with his embarrassing moment with Trela, but only Lineslieth would help with the unflinching desire, for company. Hiro had gone missing; he assumed he was out being adventurous. Or perhaps stocking up on all the candy he could get his hands on.
Astrid was no where to be seen. He had a feeling she was avoiding him, some how. And Trela; he had seen her only a couple of days ago.
Maybe Cerceris could help, too. She seemed to understand a lot more than he did...

Sekhmet was wandering the halls, as usual, when she came upon another student ahead of her. He appeared to be an altered human, part canine, and seemed to radiate unhappy.
She was not sure whether it would be a good idea to greet him, or whether it would be better to just let him keep going. For a moment she almost decided on the latter, but in the end his high level of emotion intrigued her, and her desire to speak to him won over. It wasn't as if he could really hurt her, anyway.
"Hello," she greeted from behind him, her voice void of much emotion. She was prepared for any possible reaction from him, and she would be entertained for a moment no matter what that reaction was.

"Hello."
Hoshit. There's someone behind me. His wings gave a jerk, a quick air-born flap, and he had turned to face the voice. His wings it seemed, much like his tail, developed a life of their own.
"Hullo," he replied, in as cheery a mood as he could muster. It probably failed, mainly because he just couldn't feel cheery. He didn't really want to speak to or see anyone. But then again, this person was new... and seemed a little... Furry.
"Are you new here? I don't think I've met you..." He said, genuinely wondering. Had he met her? There was something about her that seemed... farmilliar to him. Or At least he felt it.

Once the boy turned around and met her eyes, Sekhmet felt strange. Or at least, confused. She cocked her head to study him. It was almost as if she knew him, but she was quite certain that she did not.
She shook it off, deciding to analyze it later, and straigtened her posture again. "Yes, I am rather new," she said, "I do not believe we have met before. In fact, I have only met two other students, so I am quite sure we have not. I am Sekhmet."
She continued to study him as she spoke to him, and while waiting for his reply. What was it about him?

That name sounded, well, farmilliar. Though he couldn't exactly place it. There was something about this girl. Something, comforting, to say the least. The feeling that he knew her, softened his nerves.
But at the same time, it made him slightly nervous. Was the god within him recognising something in her? He gave a smile, and nodded, wolfish ears twitching.
"It's nice to meet you, Sehkmet. My name's Akira."

Upon hearing Akira's name, everything clicked in Sekhmet's mind. "Oh, you are Astrid's friend. She told me about you. You are bonded to Anubis."
Anubis' presence must have been what caused the tug of familiarity once she met eyes with Akira. She herself had never actually bonded to a mortal, so she was unsure of what the process was or what the relationship with Akira and Anubis would be. So she decided to stay quiet after her statements to let the boy say something about the bond.

"Astrid?" He gave a moment's thought. She knows Astrid? Stupid, of course she does. But... oh wait. Astrid. Right. "Ah, right..."
He assumed she would tell Sehkmet of the bond. Maybe out of curiosity with her own bond. She did seem very... taken back by it all. He gave another nod, followed by a, "Mm," sound.
"That's me," His wings gave a nudge.
"Do you know much about Anubis? I've... uh... gotten to know him a little in the last few hours," What with the bond, literally bonding. He could still feel the sense of awareness. Still see the spirits. He was beginning to know a little about the process of mummification; which he deducted must have been unpleasant for those who actually performed the ritual.
Spikes up peoples' noses? Yuck.

"Well," Sekhmet said, "I could tell you the short version of what I know of him. You may know some of it."
"In the very shortest version, Anubis was the Egyptian God of Death. To the ancient Egyptians, he was a sort of gatekeeper to the afterlife. He was said to help people find their way through the underworld, and weigh their hearts to see if they had lived a good and honest life. For quite awhile I was, in a way, considered to be his mother. It is untrue, but they believed that I was something like the evil side of Hathor, who was the wife of Ra, his father."
"Of course, there is more than that, but that is the condensed version," Sekhmet said, "If you'd like more information I could try to help you."

Akira gave a blink. He already knew most of that, sorta. The part about being considered Anubis' mother, however, took him by surprise. That had to mean that she was a goddess, right? Was, or is... he was taken aback. But the sense of farmiliarity made sense now.
"You're a goddess?" He asked, after a few moments of silence.
Why was he surprised that a goddess would be at the academy? Why not? He was bonded to a god, so was Astrid.
Sehkmet...
"So that's why I feel I know you..." His ears twitched, his eyes following a spirit that walked in circles around them. It faded every time his eyes made contact with it. Whispers asking for help made him shake his head for a moment, before he re-focussed on Sehkmet.
