Does every human female loves to give birth and have kids.
Dear Abby: Accidetal mother finds no joy in being a parent
If he was my husband I would have beaten him black and blue till he signed the goddamned papers. which is another point I want to bring up - why does the father of the child have to sign papers for you to give the kid up? if you don't want the kid, you should not be forced to have it or take care of it, I mean thats one of the reasons adoption is around for. yet if the mother does not take care for that child which she does not want, it could be considered abuse and she'd be punished.
FTW confused

EXCUSE ME!
If she can't take care of the kid, she should be able to relinquish.
Then give the kid up to that goddamn ******** of a husband! stressed
Seriously. If he won't sign, he should take care.

She should've just had an abortion. Don't need the father's consent for that, thank god.
I think there's a definate conflict when one parent wants to give the child up, but the other doesn't. It's easily resolved if they aren't together, but with married/committed couples... But, I think if one parent wants to keep the child, they should be able to because it is a child. I think that there needs to be a consensus to place the child up for adoption.
As for this woman, I feel very sorry for her. If she has post-partum, and I wouldn't be surprised if her doctor tells her she does because heaven FORBID a woman not feel maternal, maybe getting that resolved will help her feel better toward her daughter... I could be post-partum, the distance between herself and her family, and the stresses of motherhood combined. If she can't feel better, she needs to keep bugging her husband about adoption...

I want to know whose bright idea it was to support such legislation.
I mean, really. Somehow, the idea of forcing a woman to take care of an unwanted child does not sound like a particularly bright idea -- maybe that is just me.

If he won't sign, he should take care. Ya. If I married a guy and discovered he wouldn't sign the papers and wouldn't take care of the kid, I'd beat him unconscious (well, at least give him a good smack) and then seriously consider divorce.

She needs help. Not only does she not deserve to have a daughter she does not love, and the girl does not deserve a mother that does not love her.
Her husband needs a swift kick in the balls.

It's sad when this type of thing happen's...The un-wanted girl should be put up for adoption even if the mother has to force the girls father into it. If she gets on their nerves then why didnt they put her up for adoption..not doing so Is like caging the poor kid. Living with a family that doesnt care about her is the worst they could have ever done.

The father hasn't really shown that he'd be an unfit parent to a court. (Yeah, he did basically enslave a woman to care for a child, but that can easily be plead away if the court is anti-choice enough stare ) Point is, just because she doesn't find joy in being a parent shouldn't mean he has to give up parenting, andf just because he doesn't want to do so shouldn't mean she has to stay a parent.

Well she is always going to be a parent, but she would be giving up her parental responsibility... but yes, I agree.

If the man wants the kid then he can raise the damn thing himself. He shouldn't force a woman to take care of it and end up resenting it because the man couldn't underestand that the woman needed to let someone else love it for her.
