There are a lot of great jobs in FFXI that come from the previous games (though some of the job characteristics have changed, IE: Ninja used to use Dispel) yet we havn't seen one of the best jobs of all, the Blue Mage! This was one of the best jobs ever, and its abilities were by far the most fun to play with. Even though this job wasn't used nearly as much as the others, its job traits were added to the games when you could "learn" and enemies ability and use it against them. I for one think it would be a cool idea to have the Blue Mage in FFXI. My image of them is to have them stronger then a rdm, but not as strong as a war, and of coarse they will have their abilities they can use with MP. But sense they are abilities and not spells, perhaps it would be best to have them build TP to use an ability. IE: You build TP to 300% but instead of using Burning Blade, you pull out a Goblin Rush and send the enemy backwards, and stunning them at the same time. Oh well, let me know what you think about this.

Aaaaand Technicly a lot of the things Mobs can do people can do already ( IE: Fire, Protect Etc.) Plus, if they learned spells like that... There would be a MAJOR ecomomy downfall x_x

Your both right but as you know, many job classes have pretty much the same abilities, just different ways to do them. Bards, Summoners, White Mages, Black Mages, all have abilities which are similar but have different ways of doing them. All I'm saying is to have someone who can learn the enemies special abilities. It would be a different way to play entirely. As I said above you would be a mele character, and when you built tp you would do a technique learned from a mob, like Scissor Guard for an extra boost of defense. I know there is a very small chance of this ever becoming a reality, but its something to think about at least.

Well, as much as I would love to see a Blue Mage added to FF11 I highly doubt that will ever happen. (Not to mention a hella long update.) You would have a hard time learning the techniques unless you were high level, or wanted to die. Plus, whats not to stop glitchs and problems to really screw up the game from adding that in? It would be awesome, but it just does not seem logical.

TiggyChan well technically i think beastmaster is gonna be the closest thing your are gonna get to a blue mage in the game :/ I agree BST is the closest to Blue mage we will ever get to hat job cuz think about it a BLue mage uses the abilities of the mobs to attack when a BST just commands the mob to se the attack virtually the same job 3nodding
