What do you think of one person shows? Some examples are:

Say Goodnight, Gracie; Golda's Balcony; I Am My Own Wife; Shirley Valentine; Krapp's Last Tape; My Astonishing Self; Edmund Kean; Ian McKellen: Acting Shakespeare; A Knight Out; The Babe; Kipling; The Singular Dorothy Parker; Lillian; Tru; Largely New York; The Regard of Flight; The Kingfish; and A Christmas Carol (starring patrick Stewart).

Some are great. I think they're like mini autobiographies. Some stink. But it also has to be the hardest to do. One person keeping the attention of an audience and the writer making sure the audience doesn't fall asleep during the show.

anyway, what do you think?

I Am My Own Wife was amazing. It was breath taking. I was so glad when it won best actor and best drama. It was fantastic.

I like the John Leguizamo one man shows as well.

I like many more but those are the ones that stick out in my head, that I've seen, right now.

I forgot to mention that I hate Jackie mason. I saw his first show and it seemed so prejudice that I refuse to see him ever again. Spalding Gray did some very nice monologues. Too bad he committed suicide. I only saw Monster in a Box.

Another America is another good play. I read it, didn't see it. It's supposedly was originally performed by one person, but there are so many roles in it, it could be played by several people. It's about gays in the military.

I once saw this absolutely awful play about a woman, her daughter, and her deranged mother, on holiday together, all played by a 50-year-old woman with tight clothes. If you have never seen a 50-year-old try and play a 15-year-old... count your lucky stars.

I read a one-woman show my old director once wrote - she'd been editing it for about three years. It blew me away. One-person shows are so unique that, unless they're completely terrible, I usually can't help but enjoy them.

I've seen a few and loved them all, but one stands out in my mind, I wish I could remember the name, but It was a one woman shoe about a scientist...it was very entertaining and audience interactive....my favorite part had to be the song that she got us all singing...she was in a skelton costume and started to sing "dem' bones" but then at one point she added in "and their all conected to the overies"....that show took guts but was amazing....I think what most of them take to work is a good strong actor/actress that can carry the load of the show
