This is a poem that I wrote which is, surprisingly enough to me, going to get published this December. ^-^ So I thought I'd give you all a sneak peak at what's going to be shared with the world... or atleast the continental U.S. ((and yes, I am UBER excited. I never really thought that I'd have the chance to have something like this happen to me.))

Let Go

Do you remember the night we met?
I smile still, it's a memory hard to forget.
A song was playing and the stars were hung just right.
You took my hand and we danced in the moonlight.

Isn't it funny how everything can change in a blink of an eye?
One minute you say hello, the next your trying to find a way to say good-bye.
We try our best to hold on to a life letting go.
But it slips through our fingers, like the waters of an undertow.

Let's remember the good times with the time we have spare.
It lightens the pain some, knowing of the many we have shared.
Hold on to our good times, 'cause they are all we have left.
As I sit here holding your hand, and wishing you the best.

A smile softens your face as you close your eyes and whisper your last good-bye.
You breathe your last breath as I start to cry.
In the gentle breeze, your candle blown out.
Leaving me filled with sorrow, emptiness, and doubt.
Your life has no more struggles, no more strife.
As I let go of your hand, and you let go of life.
