[ Current Weather ]
  • Humid! ..... The jungle offers constant warmth to any that pass it's way. During the sun's hours shade is a blessing, and in abundant supply due to the cannopy of trees at every turn. The nights don't offer much relief as all the moisture often leaves the climate rather muggy. The rainy season is just around the corner, at which time the jungle will experience frequent surprise-downpours.

[ Religion of the Unity Walkers ]
  • The ..... Unity Walkers believe in the trinity of Mbingu, Ardhi, and the goddess of Unity (Kiva) that watches over them all. They associate new life with the sun, and death with dusk. As new life is created it rises and brings dawn, and as it goes through it's phases of the day (just like the sun) it shines brightly throughout it's highest peaks. Eventually the sun begins to set, when it's glow softens from a vibrant whiteness to a firey ember, eventually sinking below the horizon to become one with Earth once again.

They believe that their members, as they pass on, return to the Earth and Sky. Their souls become one with the stars above, to be guarded and protected by Kiva, while their body becomes one with the Earth again to continue giving life.

They have only recently (within the last four generations) come into hard times, and believe that it is the punishment of their goddess, who they believe was angered and saddened greatly by the dischord that broke out among their family. When there is no unity among the pride, the balance of things becomes disrupted, and Kiva becomes displeased. Finally, three generations after the Great Divide, Kiva seems to have forgiven them. They have since strengthened their belief and resolve to live together in harmony.

[ History of the Unity Walkers ]
  • The ..... Ushirkino Watembezaji has survived deep within the depths of the jungle for thirteen generations, spanning over an unknown number of years. The Wataawa (Priests and storytellers) tell the tale of the humble beginnings of their clan.

In lands far from the humidity of the tropical forest, tucked within the confines of a long since revived crater a lioness gave birth within the safety of her den to a set of twins: One male, and the other, female. The little female's colors were soothing dark blue hues, and she bore white markings that seemed to resemble the swirling, surging clouds that painted the skies above. Her brother was of more humble coloration, having a pelt of deep brown with touches of sand around his eyes and streaking through his hair and tail tuft. His markings were sharp, ridgid, and upjutting like the mountains to the South, which seemed to touch the very sky itself and dance among the clouds.

Their parents were loving, but thought nothing overly special of the markings or the fact that these twins were mirror opposites of one another in everything they did. As time went on, the twins grew, and eventually they came into adulthood. Their parents passed on but the twins remained by one another's side, feeling an unspoken bond that was stronger with loyalty than most others. Despite their differences, they very rarely, if ever, fought.

One night, the sister heard a voice, strong and gentle, speaking to her in the form of dreams. It spoke of her "children" as though she (for the voice was female) had been a mother for ages upon ages. In that dream the dark colored female saw the wonders of the heavens, as though through the eyes of the stars. She learned many things about the skies, such as how to understand the words spoken in whispers through the breeze, or the warnings shouted through the howls of the storms.

The following night it was her brother that had a similar dream. In that dream he also met the winged lioness, and learned many great secrets of the Earth, and had a glimpse of the land from the highest peak of the mountain tops.

After sharing their visions with one another, they knew that they had been chosen to deliver a message. Taking a few along and leaving behind their birth-pride they began to seek out others, and soon formed a small pride of lions that felt a similar, if not less dynamic, calling. That is how the Unity Walkers were formed. Following the goddess' guidance they selected a king and queen to rule the pride, and took shelter in the ferns and lush grasses of the humid jungle. There they lived in undisturbed unity for many, many years.

The twins that brought their family together went by the names of Enzi and Bucho, and they became the very first Wataawa (Priests). As such they are well known through Ushirkino Watembezaji history. Their story is passed down from generation to generation through the Elders, Wataawa, and storytellers.

Things went well for many years before trouble began to brew. A whisper began to spread that the Mbingu members considered themselves to be above their Ardhi brothers and sisters. Supposedly the Mbingu were closer to the goddess and therefore were held in higher favor than the "lower" ones. Of course, that didn't sit too well with the Ardhi, and soon squabbles began to break out. Before too much longer they began taking sides and a divide began within the pride. The goddess became very displeased, and left them for some time. During the divide, one of the Pride's Seers died, and they saw no sign of more twins being born. The pride began to break apart and some generations passed before finally the goddess cooled down. As a sign of forgiveness the pride was once more blessed with twins after four generations, and they were taught the ways of the pride, and once of age sent out to find what remained of their disbanded members.

[ Current Events ]
  • At ..... last, the Unity Walkers know prosperous times once more! Kauta has finally come of age to assume leadership of the Pride, thanks to her Priests, Mteuli and Mteule. Theluji, a rogue lioness, has traveled into the jungle and stolen Matifu's heart quite completely. The long-time-bachelor has settled down and sired three boys with the Mbingu aligned female. There is also Aysha, a friend of Mteuli's who was brought back to the pride with signs of late pregnancy. She's given birth to a healthy son. It seems the pride will have their paws full with all the new youth springing about!

Recently, Matifu and Theluji's boys have grown into juviniles. Kiva has returned in unexpected ways, and has revealed herself in physical form to the twin-pirests for the first time in the pride's long running history. Tanashita and Kifijo's first litter has grown, and they are now expecting their second. With this they return to the pride to rejoin their family once again. Soon it will be time to revive the old traditions once more and all will be unified as it was meant to be.

  • The ..... royal family has ruled over the pride since it was first formed. The first ruler of the pride is said to be the offspring of the first priests, though legend doesn't say which, nor which ruler (king or queen) was the offspring. Since then, however, the bloodline has continued throughout the years. Sometimes one of the active priests will step in as consort to create heirs if for some reason the need arises. The current ruler is Kauta, and once again there is reason for a consort, both in the literal and the figurative sense. There is no king for the pride at the moment, though there will soon be heirs to continue the bloodline.

Title: Huntress
Parents: Kifijo and Tanashita
Siblings: Tamariku, Bakari; Mtiva, Nitesh, Paki, Johari
Mate: Janikiwiti
Offspring: None
Owned by: Kytora
Description: Moyo has a tendency to become moody and go off on her own for a bit. But as little as she does that, the rest of her time is devoted to making others happy. She once fetched a rare herb to help calm her mother's churning stomach; she only asked for a smile as a thank you. Moyo is giving, nurturing, and will help an abandoned cub in an instant, just like her mother. Moyo grew up in a small cave with her family of two parents and two older brothers. Kifijo would often take her and her sibs out to practice hunting; that was her favorite time of day. But other than hunting--and occasionally going to the jungle for a swim--Moyo never really left her home's area. She has a slight thirst to wander, and when she and Kiwi travel to the Pridelands, it will be quenched.
