If you're reffering to plot, maybe 5 minutes. Though episode 2 does start off with a flashback to 15 years ago, the actual timeline picks up directly after where episode 1 left off.
If you're asking about production time (how much time between the releases) about 2 years. If the pattern holds we should see the JP release of ep 3 early next year, but given the lack of news on the subject I'm starting to doubt that possibility.

To put it simply, Monolithsoft got stupid after they fired the original staff.

I actually love the newer style (not to say I didn't like the old one as well). The only character that bugs me though is Shion, she just looks *too* different. Ah well.
