My computer died while playing SM. After I restarted, I found that I lost some of Kilga's files. I'm pissed. I lost B.B. Evolution and some other ones.

Your computer must've decided it wasn't cool enough to have any of Kilga's files.

I suggest you: save your best files to a secondary drive. (CD, floppy disk, flash drive, or secondary hard drive)

NOt as bad as having your computer just decide not to be able to start up Stepmania one day for no reason after a good year of working fine.

Wasn't as bad as when I lost 3 gigs of stepmania after my powesupply decided to stop working and my D: drive like Died. (To this day how that hard drive died is still a mystery @.@)

Did you try taking it in and having the data recovered? It's generally quite possible, if the people you take it to don't suck.
I've only got 18 MB of songs, 40 MB of SM stuff total. xp

Seal the hard drive really tight in a ziplock bag and stick it in the freezer for a day.
It won't fix the hard drive, but it'll give it another hour or two of life so you can get important stuff off of it.

Nah if your talking to me I couldn't get the data recovered because I origanally wiped my entire C: drive and I was depending on my backup to give me all my songs and themes back. but that D: drive is in the garbage now.
