Kit gave a small smile at his concern, a tug of something unfamiliar in her stomach. When he grabbed onto her ear and proceeded to let go, she grinned mischeviously, pushing forward in the water towards him. When she reached him, her green eyes glittered and she let out a playful roar before 'pouncing' on him by pressing her paws on his chest, pushing him backwards.
"I should've brought you here before," she purred, batting lightly at his nose with her claws sheathed. "But you seemed to still be settling in, so I didn't want to rush anything."

Ashki fell backwards, though rather willingly. Whenever he was with Kit, he felt that he didn't have to worry. Aside from her going underwater for so long, he felt stress-free and just relaxed. It felt good. It was a nice change from his former life, where he had been a wanderer and had done nothing but worry and fear.
As she began to talk, he perked his ears so that he wouldn't miss a thing. He liked hearing Kit talk. Her voice calmed him.
Smiling, he nibbled at her paws a little bit. "Well, we're here now," he stated, feeling rather stupid being as it was something completely obvious. "Isn't that all that matters?"

Kit purred, smiling at her friend's logic. "That's true," she said happily, grinning as he nibbled on her paws. She obviously didn't seem to think that it was a stupid statement, and her eyes glowed as she watched him.
Finally, she pulled away and paddled to the shore, shaking herself off. Her fur fluffed up for a moment before becoming tiny spikes all across her body, except for the tuft of fur on her head, which flopped flatly across her forehead. "It's so cold when you get out, though," she complained playfully, not even realizing the implication she was making.

Ashki purred and rolled over a little bit in the water. It was nice to be out here, in a place where he didn't have to worry about his slave blood. He was with his good friend Kit and he could simply relax. It felt good. But when she moved away and out of the water, he rolled over to stand on his paws, his fur dripping wet and his mane as messy as ever.
Her little statement registered immediately in his mind as the little implication Kit hadn't realized it was, and he blushed immensely under his fur. He wasn't sure just how to respond to that, being as no one had ever really shown interest in him before. Plus, he was doubting himself, thinking that maybe he had interpreted her words wrong. Nonetheless, he couldn't help but let his heart beat against his chest.
Finally, he decided that he had to respond to it somehow, so he just said the first thing that came to mind. "Well.. we can lay out in the sun, if you want? I'm sure it won't take too long for us to dry off..." He wasn't sure if he had said the right thing, but that's what he had said and he couldn't change it.

The young lioness was learning to catch things about Ashki - a slight change of expression, or a tinge of an awkward tone - and she blinked when he became a bit nervous after what she said. What was it that made him so awkward? She was just saying that wet fur made you cold... how could he react badly to...
Ohhhh.
Kit scuffed at the sandy dirt on the shore of the pond, almost as embarassed as Ash was. "Oh!... yeah! The sun will warm us up." She smiled nervously, her ears flicking back. "S..sorry! I didn't mean it like that!" Her smile became sheepish and she looked away, embarassed that she had said something like that.

Ashki seemed to blush even more when Kit caught on to the underlying meaning her words had given off. He had tried to play it off like it had been nothing, but now that she had discovered what had made him so nervous, it was hard to really ignore it.
"Oh, uhm.." he hesitated, his ears folding back as he found his stomach fluttering and churning. Why was he so nervous now? He hadn't been before, so why would now be any different? What was this feeling? "No, it's okay. I know what you meant," he said quietly, his eyes averting to the side. He really didn't know what to do anymore.
"Uhm.. let's just go dry off or something." It was obvious that he was unsure of it all. This was, after all, the first time anyone had ever even implied things like that.
Lowering his head, he walked past Kit, his tail flicking against her slightly. "Coming?"

No matter how embarassed Kit was feeling, she saw that Ashki wasn't feeling any better, and so she decided to suck it up and pretend like it had never happened. She plastered her mischevious grin onto her lips, and when he flicked his tail to her side, she spun around and grabbed it in her jaws, nibbling playfully. After a moment she let it go and padded up to his side, her eyes still bright.
"That sounds good to me!" she said happily. As usual, she fell in step beside him, holding her head high as she looked out through the savannah.
Even if she had made a stupid comment, nothing was going to get her down.

Ash was relieved when Kit seemed to just ignore all those awkward feelings and move on with things. His stomach loosened up and he felt like he could breath again. It made him feel good again, and he smiled, purring as she grabbed his tail then came up beside him.
"Right, on we go," he said happily, a little bounce in his step. Then, with that, he walked on with his friend, off into the lands of their new home: the Pridelands.
