I come into the guild everyday, looking for chat, only to find, I have the last post. I beleive we should have monthly maintanence. People should post at least 30 times a month, thats once to twice a day. Not hard. Opinions?

IN my guild I preform monthly user sweeps and thread sweeps. Where the crew and I warn/ban users that are not posting and delete threads that have not been posted in for about a month or more.

banning people for not posting would mean banning about 3/4 the members. however, I think those of us mods here should work together and send out a msg asking ppl to post to all the members with 0 posts.

Good idea, but it would take a long time to got through every person in the guild and telling them we're gonna kick them out if they don't post. Even if we all worked together. We would have to sit and wait for reply, ect... My ideas:
1.) We put up some announcement on the fist page of the forums that if you don't post in x number of days, then you're gonna be banned.
2.) We do the same thing at the guild home and do it in very big letters. And we have people put that they understand this in their request to join the guild. If they don't include that in their request, they aren't in.
3.) Try and make some sort of hybrid system between The Unamed Feeling's idea and Faceless Killa's idea.
EDIT:
4.) If we send a message about it using the paperboy, then we could get it out to a majority of our members. Quick and easy.
We should run our ideas by Mike first and have him approve of them. We don't want to piss the captian off...

There is just one flaw to the PM system that I've learned. Sometimes a few users that join the guild disable their PMs from other users so that guild staff can't send warnings or guild announcement PMs.
In those cases ban the user automatically.

Agreed. If we can't reach them, then we sholdn't have to go through the trouble of trying to.
That's how it should be done then... Have a message sent out using the Metallica Paperboy and if someone's PM's are disabled, then they're screwed.

Agreed, just that we need the authorization from Mike.

I come in everyday and if you come in everyday none of you post replies to the topic I made or other ones. I doubt you come in. I do and post even though no one cares. All of you are dead basicly.

Hmm no banning to this guild. Im not really a big fan of banning old members, one day they just might come back and do a few posts, and even if just a little. it helps us to grow. Instead of threatening we should encourage. Like having a posting contest or whatever, its just to copy all the pages of post amounts when the contest starts and then we can just so who posted most right after it smile (keep it up for a week or so)

I must agree; banning ain't a good idea. It might piss off some lurkers and them, who ain't had a chance to post. I, for an example, have access to gaia once or twice in a week. So I would be screwd, eh?
