Divas... We all know them, and we all love one or another. They have one title: The WWE Women's Championship. The ones of Fabulous Moola, Wendi Ritcher, Lelani Kai, Velvet McIntyre, Sherri Martel, Rockin' Robin, Alundra Blayze, Bull Nakano, Berta Faye, Jacqueline, Sable, Debra, Ivory, The Kat, Stephanie MacMahon, Lita, Chyna, Trish Stratus, Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria, Gail Kim, Mickie James, all got their hands on the title. There was a time when the Women's Chapionship was filled with talent. Is now still that time? Let's analise the current roster, shall we?
RAW
Trish Stratus- A 6 time women's champion. She climbed her way to the top. She went to WWE with no wrestling ability, and now she's one of the best. Definitly a sucessfull Diva. She is supossed to be leaving WWE. She'll be missed by many, that's for sure.
Lita- 3 times champion. She amazed the world with her high flying moves, her courage to put her body on the line, to have matches against males, and even win. She is a great wrestler, or at least she used to be. Now, she's Edge's valet, with an ocasional match, that isn't nearly as good as her older matches. Her injuries, and the fact that she gained weight (just look at her! She's chubbier than she used to be!), put a big question mark in her future as a wrestler, for the time she'll be in WWE anyway. Perhaps it really is time for her to go.
Victoria- Ahh Victoria.. The strongest Diva in WWE today. A 2 times women's champion, those that saw her in OVW expected great things from her. And indeed, she was impressive. She had a hardore match, 2 street fights (hardcore match and street fights against Trish), a Cage Match (against Lita). However, we can certainly say she is one of the most unfortumate Divas in the roster. She has a tremendous wrestling ability, and yet, we see her lose to Trish and her friends over and over, and the most she does is squash indy talent on Heat. If you ask me, WWE insulted on New Year's Revolution when she entered that Bra and Pantie Gantlet Match. She deserves better than that.
Mickie James- 1 time champion. She's a good wrestler, and if she is still like she was in the indies, then we can say that she is not afraid of taking a bump, getting in the ring with a guy (I've seen her in the ring with Lashley on OVW)... If WWE treats her right, she won't go anywhere but up.
Beth Phoenix- Well she seems to have the wrestling ability, but if she's always this injury prone, then I doubt she'll ever hold the title for long, if at all.
Torrie Wilson- Well... She's improving in the ring.... But I doubt she'll get much better than she is now...
Candice Michelle- She's improving. While I wouldn't bet on her has some sort of surprise tallent, she certainly can be a good wrestler if she keeps working to improve.
Maria- I must say, Maria surprised me in her match against Mickie James. I was expecting to see her do just a few clotheslines, or a punch or two. If she's improving like I heard she is (I haven't seen any more of her matches), then she will become a good wrestler.
Melina- SHUT.... THE... ********... UP!!! DAMN IT!!! What is it with the screaming? She can fight, she's good on the mic and all, but WHY does she has to scream? I don't get it!
Smackdown
Jillian Hall- She should be on RAW. She can wrestle, she's one of the best Divas in WWE, get her on RAW and make her feud with Lita, or whatever, for the title. Her gimmick as a vallet for MNM was no good, for JBL it wasn't any better, GET HER IN A RING WITH RAW'S DIVAS THAT CAN WRESTLE!
Ashley Massaro- ....... I doubt she'll ever make it...
Krystal- Surprised me, it's true, and she seems to want to improve, she may become a good wrestler, but I won't hold my breath.
Michelle McCool- I honestly don't know anything about her... All I know is that she's supossed to have a background in kickboxing, so I guess that if she went to the ring she could make a decent match.
Sharmell- ... Don't get me started stare I hate her, I don't care if she can wrestle or not, she should be fired, period.
So, when it's all said and done, one could say that WWE does has female talent, however, I wouldn't put my money on the MacMahons making a better use of it than they do now. On Raw and Smackdown, they only get 4 minutes matches, sometimes with the title on the line... Title shots should be a match where we see the best of the champion and the challenger, not a 4 minutes "hurry up" thing. As far as I am concerned, women like Lita, Trish, Mickie and Victoria have proven that they can hold a match for as long as a male can, and even be as good as them. WWE has everything to have a good women's division. With indy tallent such as Shantelle Taylor and Nikita on their way to WWE, things can only get better. Let's just hope that WWE gives them the chance to prove how good they trully are.
