I was unsure whether or not I should make this topic, as most of the others here seem pretty long term. But oh well, cutting my losses and that sort of thing.
I’m not entirely sure whether this is happening around other parts of the UK as well, but this weekend I went into Brighton – city on the coast, hope that doesn’t give away too much – and was delighted to find they have a Doctor Who exhibition on the Palace Pier. My friend and I brought tickets and had a look around.
Quizzes and episodes playing on projections on the floor… A see-through rotating Tardis with the outfits for the current Doctor and Rose inside along with sketches and designs. Information on the walls and a tribute to each episode in the new series so far. Lots of models too. My favourite part had to be the Dalek room, where they had a big, blue “DO NOT PUSH” button. Well, when you see signs like that there’s only one thing to do on natural impulse… I got exterminated xD! Lots of flashing lights.
I do feel kind of sorry for the attendants outside having to listen to the Oo-ee-oo all day through, though I don’t think I’d mind it.
Well, if anyone’s in the UK and has chance to go down there, I highly advise it.

I have the promise of at least one return visit from my parents - maybe I could take some photos next time round, if I remember the camera xD;;

seffy_chan You should deffinitly post pictures! ^-^ if only for those of us in the states. heart xd In a few weeks time then, once I've been again ^.^. Prolly just be a lot of silly images of me and my little-little sister. We're in competition at the moment, still figuring out how to make Eggbox Daleks. Haven't had time with school work recently though T.T...

There have been numerous Doctor Who exhibitions around and about the UK, but I never manage to catch one - BUT there is a Dalek in Ottakar's bookshop in Edinburgh, which is pretty cool.

Any chance of pictures of that? The only way to see a Dalek here in Missouri is to build one yourself, and I'm not quite that crazy (yet). ^_^

Apart from lacking the tools and any experience whatsoever with fiberglass and power tools, it doesn't seem too bad ^_^;; You've got to respect the people who build these things for a hobby--especially those who've built more than one. It's a deceptively complex prop, especially if you try to build in electronics like the voice modulator......

I saw that Dalek. There wasn't anyone there at the time, or at least I thought there wasn't, and I kind of yelled "Doctor, save me!". You can imagine how embarased I was when someone looked around the corner sweatdrop
