Want and Care

Is it possible to want something and not care about it? No, it is not at all possible. To say that you want something is to say that you care about that something in some way. In other words, when one wants something, they care about it in some way. There is no way to want something and to, not care about it. When one wants something, such as ice cream, they may not care about it as much, or in the same way, as they would for something such as a family member. However, the fact that they do not care about ice cream as much as or in the same way, hardly constitutes the fact that they do not care about ice cream. It simply means they do not care about it as much or in the same way, as they care about other things. When I want something, I care about it in as much as I want it. For example, when I want a Pepsi, I care about getting that Pepsi because I want it, whereas, if I did not want the Pepsi, I would not care about the Pepsi. Furthermore, if I want a Pepsi, yet, I do not like the terms of the trade, and thus, decide not to get a Pepsi, it hardly means that I did not want, nor care about the Pepsi; it merely means that I did not care, nor want, the Pepsi enough to agree to the terms of the trade. There is never a time when I cannot care about something and still want it; the only way to want something is to care about that something in some way, and to not want something, is to not care about something.
