Couldn't this have been posted in the main FY and AnC stickies? Unless there isn't a thread for differences between the manga and anime.
Since they're both such long series I can't tell you all the differences, but for FY, they didn't do most of volume eight.
Here are the number of episodes...
Original: 52 episodes = Volumes 1-13
First OVA: 3 episodes = No volumes. It's a filler to explain why Taka has balls [Sorry I couldn't resist]. His memory balls I mean.
Second OVA: 6 episodes = Volumes 14-18
Eikouden: 4 episodes = Based on the novel "The Legend of Eternal Light"

I think that the manga for both Ceres and FY are better than their anime counterparts, but Ceres was a decent anime, though a lot of it was left out. I don't particularly like the anime series for FY very much, but it is definetly worth watching at least once.
