See thats what i liked about him though. He made it so that you could under stand them. They aren't meant to be "light reading" books, like you actually have to put thought into them, kind of the the Wachowski brother's movies.

I've tried reading the LOTR books too. I just couldn't finish it.

My friend couldn't even finish it and she's probably the biggest fan.

I read the LOTR. I really liked it a lot! It's super long tho. And people complained about the third movie going on for so long when they just wanted it to end. They have no idea how much longer it really was. It took a lot of time to calm things down after the hobbits started to go back to the shire b/c of saruman's followers and influence. but it did get fixed and the part about going into the west was the real ending, at least, for Frodo and Bilbo.

Yeah i think that Peter Jackson did just about the best job he could. I really didn't think it was that long personally. People were probably upset because they wanted to know what was going to happen. but for those of us who actually read it, i think that time passed by quicker for the pure mantality that we already knew what was going to happen and it was just happening in action of what we had already read which made it in a sense exciting. I was kind of upset though that they for got Tom Bombadil in fellowship, he was cool

Yeah! Tom Bombadil! I remember him. for some reason, when I read the part about him, I envisioned him like a giant rabbit with a top hat and coattails. stare I don't know why really. Maybe i got something from the description that made him seem like he was hopping about a lot. (or maybe my mind is just a little strange. biggrin )
