"Come now," the lioness said soothingly, sensing Kenai's uncomfortableness, "don't be shy. There's plenty enough around here to share." That was true; food in the Pridelands were plentiful, and it was her duty as part of the pride to share the bounty of the land with all that needs it. The lioness smiled toward the adolescent lion, wondering if he will decided to accept her offer.

He grinned at her and began to purr slightly. "Thank you!" He said happily, as he moved toward the snack and shifted a little so he wasn't really facing her as he ate. He nibbled at some of it and then looked over his shoulder sheepishly. "Are you sure you don't want any?" He wasn't sure about this whole... gifts from just met lionesses deal. It made him a little nervous, that was all.

"Oh yeah," the lioness smiled assuringly, "I've already had my fill today." Perhaps he didn't know, Nelu thought, because all Pridelanders had a responsibility to share and care for each other and strangers as well; it was one of the few 'rules' of the Pridelands, though the dark lioness thought it be common sense for any creature.

"So tell me..." the lioness sat idlely and wondered, while watching the other eat, "about your family..." It was more curiosity than anything else: Kenai certainly looked old enough to be out and about alone in the world. "are they waiting for you back home?" Where had the lion said he came from? "back in the Kusini lands?"

He ripped off a few more mouthfuls so he could think about what he should tell her. His tongue ran over his mouth a few times, trying to get some of the damp blood off. Kenai didn't really mind too much about being messy... but he was in the company of others.

He turned so he could face her, which was proper while talking to others. "Well... I think my mum and papa might be, since I didn't really tell them where I was going." He said softly, looking a little guilty. "Taabu keeps on telling me that his parents will be here soon.." He trailed off. But he wondered how Taabu could even figure something like that out.

The lioness nodded thoughfully, glancing at the other carefully when he mentioned not telling his parents when he left; secretly Nelu wondered if this Kenai was in some kind of trouble, but kept quiet lest it seemed like she was prying into another's business. She smiled sympathetically, though, and after awhile got up from where she was sitting to strolled around in a circle.

Everyone the lioness had met so far had seemed so intent on... something. And Kenai too, he was waiting faithfully for his friend to return. Nelu herself was at a point of vagueness in her life, with no exact goals or intentions for the future. That was ok though, for the lioness truly enjoyed the carefree life.

((I totally have no idea where this rp is going plot-wise... xD))

(I dont either?? xd -pets nelu-)

Kenai's ears flickered a little, pressing down against his fluffy skull. Had he said something wrong? The conversation had completely stopped, and that always made Kenai a little nervous. He stood slowly and stretched, his gaze up on the moon. What now?

As much as he missed home... he wasn't all that sure he wanted to stay home. It didn't make much sense, and was cause for a big headache, but it was just what his heart felt.

In the meanwhile the lioness had noticed the total silence too; it does seem that there conversation had drawn to a close. A breeze blew through, followed by the tiniest rustlings of the grass. This silence, that was alright with her though, for noiselessness to her was both a norm and comfort. She had gotten quiet used to it, being in the silent presence of someone enjoyable...

Though she couldn't imagine this to be of much fun for the younger lion. "Mmmm, do you need me for anything else?" the lioness asked, fearing that she was about to bore Kenai to death. Though she did want to provide the last bit of assistance if she could.

((Bah, totally didn't notice that Nelu didn't talk in my last post. xD

conversation is dying ;_; ... end...?))

Ah so she would be leaving, it seemed. "Ah, no. I think you for your company though, Nelu." He said with a breif smile.

(What a small post this is xd

and yes I suppose it is.)

Nelu nodded, "I wish you the best of luck finding your friend then."

And so ended Nelu and Kenai's meeting in the Pridelands. The dark lioness looked back to smile once more before sauntering off into the distance, wondering what else this day would bring.
