okay, now that we are close to finding out which drivers are going to be in the chase, the next question is who do you think will be strong in the chase and who will win the championship?

as much as i like jeff burton i would have to say kevin harvick is the man to beat this year...stewart, johnson, and jeff gordon have been hit or miss either this year, or generally in the chase...jeff burton has been so consistent, i can't see him not be a contender since consistency is what wins drivers the chase...who do you think will win the cup?

Well, I really want Dale Jr. to win it. He isn't out of it yet. However, Jimmie is strong, and you can't count out Tony, Matt, Jeff, or just about any of the others yet either.
Though, wouldn't it be something to see Kevin Harvick win both the Busch and the Cup titles? eek

I would love to see Mark Martin win a championship. He has come close to winning championships on more than one occasion and he is one of the most respectable guys in NASCAR. I think this could be his year if he plays his cards right.

I think it would be nice to see Mark Martin win, or, at least contend, for the championship since he says it's going to be his last run in the Cup Series. (I know he's running Truck next year, but doesn't anybody know if the Cup thing is still true?)
On the Chase and Championship note, though...
KEVIN HARVICK all the way!!!
Seriously, Harvick and the whole RCR gang have come a long way since their years of the downfall after Dale E. I think he could really win the championship. mrgreen

Not trying to sound repetitive but I would be happy to see just about anyone win as long as Tony Stewart doesn't. I would prefer to see Martin win one or another Roushkateer.

I would be happy to see Mark Martin win. In fact there are few drivers I wouldn't be happy to see win, but I don't feel like being a hater right now. wink

i would be happy to see jeff burton win it, but he still has to make it through bristol and richmond in order to have a chance now that he got that stupid dnf and went from 4th to 9th in pionts

The chase is a good idea but it needs some rule modifications. I dont like the fact that its possible for the 10th place driver to score more points than the leader going into the chase and still not win the championship. For example, Carl Edwards scored as many points as Tony Stewart last year in the chase and finished third. Thats not right. I think they should reset the top tens points to zero instead so they can really have at it.

I think drivers get enough points for winning. Consistancy is the key to winning championships, not just wins.
