Hello and welcome to Hi no Neko's Amazing Anime Survey Guild! This thread is here to answer all your important (And a few of your not-so-important.) questions about the guild and it's workings.

On to the questions!

Q: What is the purpose of the Anime Survey Guild?
A: Once upon a time, I noticed that a lot of anime and manga companies will place little cards inside their products asking questions like people's buying habits, what they were interested in, etc. I also realized that a lot of people on Gaia like taking polls. Thus, the Anime Survey Project was born: Collect data from anime fans, (Which Gaia has a near infinite supply of.) pack it all up into a neat report, and send it off to anime and manga companies. That way, companies can get information in one condensed package and possibly get info from people who don't buy their products.

Q: Are we allowed to make our own polls?
A: Of course! In fact, there is an entire subforum for polls you make yourself. It is recommended that your poll has something to do with anime or manga, though.

Q: Will any of our personal information, like names or E-mail adresses, be included in the survey?
A: Not at all. This survey guild is simply for gathering information that anime companies can use to adapt to fan's tastes and needs. There may be some polls asking for things like age or income level. If you are uncomfortable with revealing that kind of information, then simply don't vote. nobody's going to harass you about it.

Q: What kinds of anime and manga fans are you looking for to participate in this?
A: Any kind! It doesn't matter your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything like that. So long as you like anime, manga and polls (Of course.) you are welcome to participate. However, a certain emphasis will be placed on fans and companies from the United States. (It being one of the largest markets for anime and manga, outside of Asia.) Still, there will be plenty of polls for international anime fans to vote on.

Q: When is the data form the polls collected?
A: Whenever I feel there is a satisfactory number of votes. (Upwards of 100.) A poll may or may not stay open after I have collected data from it.

Q: Do I have to vote on every single poll?
A: Nope! You are welcome to vote on any number of polls. If you feel uncomfortable replying to a poll, or find a poll which does not have options that apply to you, you do not have to vote on it. However, it is a good idea to vote on as many polls as you can, in order to collect more information. In the end, though, it's all up to you.

Q: What do the guild moderators do? How do I become one?
A: Moderators in the Anime Suvery Project spread the word of the project to other anime and manga fans by inviting them to join the guild. They can also ban members who violate the Gaia ToS. Project moderators are usually people that I know on Gaia and feel would be suited for the job, but if you feel that you would make a good project moderator you are welcome to PM me about so.

Q: Why is this a "private" guild?
A: The Anime Survey Project is a private guild so it is easier to maintain. While I do want a lot of people to participate in the project, if it were public there would be too many people voting all at once for me to collect accurate information.

Q: Why was I invited to the guild?
A: If you have been invited to be part of the Anime Survey Project, it is because I or one of the mods spotted you on Gaia and figured that you were an anime fan and not mentally retarded. If you feel we were mistaken about either one of those, then simply do not join. We won't try to force you.

Rules 'n' Such

Here are the rules for the Anime Survey Guild. If you have any questions about them, please send me PM describing what you find confusing.

Rule #1: NO spam polls.
While you are welcome to create your own polls about the anime/manga fandom, spam polls are not permitted. By spam polls I mean things like "What is your favorite color?" or "What did you eat for breakfast"? This guild is in the Anime section for a reason, and that reason is to get as much relevant information as I can. Spam polls only clog up the guild and make it harder to find meaningful polls.

Rule #2: Be considerate to everyone.
There are many different kind of anime fans: Women, blacks, gays, Jews, etc. This guild is meant to be a friendly place for anime fans of all kinds. Anyone found posting offensive messages will be banned permanently.

Rule #3: Have fun!
I beleive that we can all agree that this is the most important rule of all.

Guild Moderator FAQ

This is a FAQ designed for the ASP Guild moderators. If you would like information on what the guild moderators do or how to become one, please check the regular FAQ.

Q: Am I allowed to invite users?
A: Absolutely. Remember, this guild is mostly for information gathering, and the more replies to a poll, the better! You are welcome to invite just about anyone you feel like inviting.

Q: How can I tell if someone is qualified to be invited?
A: If they're an anime fan, they're already halfway through the door. The only other qualifications someones needs in order to be "invitable" is an ability to follow the guild rules. It also helps if they can spell the word "you' with more than two letters.

Q: How do I deal with spam or non-poll threads?
A: If the thread is pure spam, with a subject line like "How much gold do you have?" or "gffgjkthibblelibber!", simply delete the thread. If they have created an anime-related thread withought a poll, PM them a reminder that this is a poll-based guild, and delete the thread.
