I'm trying to get good at singing, because I am lead singer/guitarist in a Pink Floyd tribute band that I am setting up. It's gonna be fun, but a little nerve racking too. sweatdrop
EDIT: Oh and my favourite vocal song is Take it Back by Pink Floyd. It has such a great melody. biggrin

I can sing pretty well, since I have been playing guitar for awhile and I can tell what notes sound like when they're in tune. I usually like to sing and play many Nirvana songs, or some Green Day, since they're extremely easy to play. Led Zeppelin is challenging to sing while play, but I think I'm getting better at it. When my voice is exercised enough, I usually sing lower then most girls, so I really like singing along to Kurt Cobain's voice

I can sing while I play, but I totally get the dynamics messed up. I'll be trying to sing louder and I just end up playing quieter. Not good.

Sometimes when I try to play and sing the lyrics, I end up playing the guitar part right, but I'm also singing the guitar part if it's all powerchords

BurningTheory There comes a time when playing guitar when you must choose what the best option is: To sing the song as you play, or just play 10 times better to make up for it. xd Haha, that's a good quote XD. I usually sing, especially when I play my acoustic. Yep, the way I learned was "Breath in = gut out, Breath out = gut in." It makes you sound a lot more audible and clear. It's what makes the worst singers sound 2x better. Vice versa is the wrong way to breath...because there is a correct way of breathing XP.

I can sing some songs and play them, but only a few songs. Like Dying In Your Arms, Pull Harder, or Like Light To The Flies by Trivium.

The lack of full on Trivium singing makes it much easier. I usually take the vocal line with less lyrics, because after all, the lead singer does need more. sweatdrop

I'll have to use that for a few of my friends. smile
