T'Cora was where was most logical for her to be. Delphia had come to accept that her adopted daughter simply was most likely to be found near the water. But not just any water. It had to be the ocean.
She spent her days dancing in the waves, splashing with Myster and laughing. She explored the shore extensively, fearing not the pull of current and tide. She had been born a strong swimmer.
Thus it was that today T'Cora was scrambling among rocks, her cloven hooves slipping but finding tiny niches in the rock to be used for traction. It certainly was slippery, but that never stopped this little filly. She stood spraddle-legged over a cup in the rock. Her horn pointed towards the crashing waves that thundered and hissed against the tumble of boulders she stood on. Down below her muzzle, she could see into the clear water that filled this jagged little indentation. It teemed with life. Bits of seaweed drifted faintly. Several sea anemone waved their tendrils gently. One very large orange starfish clung to one side of the tiny world.
With a squeal of delight, she spotted a miniscule crab, scuttling sideway across the sandy bottom. But the movement of her horn as she bobbed her head happily startled the little creature, and it dove behind some sewee and was lost from her view.
With a pleased sigh she looked up from the puddle ecosystem to look out at the tossing ocean. She never failed to revel in that constant motion, and the energy that charged the air around it. Carefully she made her way off the tidepool rock and leapt nimbly back down onto the sandy part of the beach. It was time for a drink and a bit of a graze. She bounded up the trail to the top of the cliffs that towered over the beach. Up here, a tiny trickle of a stream found it's way over the cliff, and fed quite a bit of vegetation. Things grew lushly so near the ocean anyway. She never was without something to eat or drink.

I sensed a great sadness in the teepee today.
It was full and liquid, like a waterskin left in a dark room to mold, but I found myself unable to leave. She needed me, he needed me... and I couldn't understand why Celei looked at me so sadly, sprawled as she was across the rich bearskin pelt.
I wanted to comfort her, but Flame stopped me with a sigh.
"Her breathing is labored, and she needs her rest Tai. " he started to say in a low whicker, but a ghastly white hand silenced him. Startled, the stallion of fire looked to his long time companion, soundless in the face of her apparent understanding.
"Sea water, rich in the glow of the full moon... bring this to me Tai. My golden child..." her voice broke at the end, as did my resolve to stay no matter what. Looking to Flame, Otaikimmio'tokaan nodded curtly and rose to his full height, sparing only a single worried glance to his adopted mother before he disappeared.
That had been mid-morning, and now, four hours and a countless span of miles, I found myself staring down at the ocean, her words ringing in my ears.
"Sea water, rich in the glow of the full moon... bring this to me Tai. My golden child..."
"Full moon eh..." I mused, blinking up at the bright early afternoon sun. I had some time to spare, though standing idly by might kill me.

It was Mystre who noticed the very large stallion standing a distance away. The pup puzzled over the way he just stood there, head bowed towards the rolling surf as if bowed down under a weight. He padded slowly towards the brown and golden soquili, casting a glance over his shoulder and the grazing filly. She twitched an ear at him without looking up. He knew her belly had been grumbling very loudly just a bit ago, so he wasn't surprised that she chose to continue eating while he approached the newcomer.
For he didn't think of this stallion as a stranger. He had met so many new soquili that he did not know now that he didn't realize what a stranger was. His overly large paws trod lightly as his growing legs carried him forward at an easy pace. It was strange, being able to move so much faster now. He wasn't aware that he had lost some of that puppy cutness in exchange for those longer legs, but as long as his friend didn't care, he didn't either. He had grown leaner as well as taller, and now looked more wolfish. He still was a pup, but he was nearing adolescence swfitly.
He paused atop a rock to mull over how it amused his heart's friend that he was younger than her, but growing up so much more quickly than she was. He had merely shrugged when she had spoken to him of it with laughter in her eyes. Still, his tail wagged at the memory. He loved it when she was happiest. it didn't displease him at all that most often he was the source of that happiness as well.
Tongue lolling, he broke into a lope that carried him around a curve of the clifftop and then directly toward the stallion. Still being young, his shoulders were well below the stallion's knee. He tipped his ears forward in a frienly fashion and slowed his pace until he sat beside the horse, tail waving slowly in the soft grasses behind him. He tipped his head up and smiled at the much larger creature. His whole demeanor was one of good-natured greeting.
