"Really?" She asked, trying to close her senses to the childish fae. Usually, she was a sucker for small children like Iris, but not tonight. She needed to get them to the security room now. "Well, you're here now. Let's just see what the hell's going on."
From her shirt she drew a slender key, gritting her teeth as she listened in to the conversation. Had to wait for weeks? The blonde woman fought off the urge to scoff- that must have been before she came, because if there was anything she enjoyed doing, it was jam-packing Shy's day with appointments. Did that make her a little sadistic? Perhaps. She had a firm belief that almost any sane person in her shoes would do the same. The woman paused at Gage's statement for a moment- biting? What sort of hormones were these kids being hopped up on?
The card was swiped with an irritable air through an invisible card slot, and she waited. There was a bried 'woosh'ing sound as part of the wall slid aside, exposing a slender hallway that led to a wider room. A console was the room's main feature, lined with glowing buttons for camera angles and other various controls. Lining the wall behind the console was nothing but screens, though for the moment everything was black. Odd.
Beth led the way forward, running her fingers over the panel of buttons. Dammit all... Silently, she began to type in various keys, far too rapid for any of the fae to follow. Ah, the skill of a secretary.

Nereida tried to follow Beth's motions, but quickly got lost.
If the power was out, what good would punching buttons do?

Iris smile to Beth " yes really, I hope he know that happens here tonight this is scary" then Irin run and hugg her sister legs. " I a little scared Nal" hide her face into her sister.
Nalani hugg her sister and rub her back " dont worry Iris I'm here and the littles faes too" she smile calmy to her sister and see as Beth finger are imposible to follow, wow this is fantastic," wow beth you can move your fingers".

"Not everything in this lab is fueled by electricity," She said cryptically as her fingers moved along. "There's a generator- have you ever heard of those? When a big storm knocks out the power, people use them to convert energy to electricity. It automatically starts up if this station loses power, but it's... not fully activated yet. If I keep doing this-" The numerous screens flickered, then dimmed again. In the dark, something struck itself against the underside of the panel. This time, the screens flickered and stayed, though they remained black.
"The cameras are back on." She announced, glancing over her shoulder. "It'll take a while, but power can be restored to some of the lower levels. Right now, we can just settle for the infa-red in the cameras."
Beth moved aside so the children could see, silently glancing over the screens herself. "Oh, wonderful. The test creatures are out and about." She murmured, watching small abstract developments of heat move in the view of the cameras. "There are three of your kind, moving along one of the upper floors...Three- four? in this one." They should be able to see her in the dark, or at least her silhouette, as it pointed and lingered over the screen that contained what looked like two blobs crisscrossing, and two standing near the crisscrossing blobs. That was Ritsuki and her followers' room.
"...What's that?" It was the most active pair of blobs, a few screens away from Ritsuki's, barreling from one screen to the next. "Mm. Running from something...?" Wrong. The two closed in on what looked like a perfect circle of heat, which didn't stay still for long. It twitched, and that was all. However, the two pursuing blobs were sent flying back; thrown. Beth stiffened. "That doesn't look good." A moment later, it was gone. "Up the elevator." The secretary clarified, her breath hushed now.

Nereida, who had been watching the events from the vicinity of Beth's elbow, had formulated her own guess for what had happened.
"There was someone sitting there, near the elevator, and the two others were chasing him. The first one had something to repell them. Magic? I dunno. And then it went up the elevator. Or down. I dunno, either." She leaned forward and rested her elbows on the console. "What room was that?"
