PLEASE NOTE: I took this out of my journal because I've recieved some PMs about posting this in a forum; so you guys are the lucky beta testers! Warning: This thread contains excessive swearing simply because it's my way of drawing attention to the specific points I'm trying to make...^^ (I edited this paper to cut down on the stuff my class wouldn't understand and turned it in as an essay and my teacher gave me an A.)
Mindless Bullshit : Opinion. Fact or Fiction? Okay, I really hate people who are feeling that they need to voice their opinion. Now I know that may make me sound like hypocrite, but I assure you...there are certain ways to go about things. The smart way to do it, is to put it in your journal where no one but people who are bound to agree with you will post their "comments". Or you could just keep your own ******** opinions to yourself if you know you're gonna be a jackass about it. That's why it pisses me off so much. These people...keep posting...on and on...and on...about how they hate something so much, and then they expect everyone else to share the same close-minded opinion. If someone voices their opinion in the opposite direction and the person bitches at them for disagreeing...I have no sympathy for either of them. Why?
People, they are both ******** morons. First, the creator of the damn topic should EXPECT a difference of opinion because not everyone's going to be the same level of opinionated a*****e that they are on. Second, the little shithead that posted a little scrap of "you're stupid" or wrote a huge rant of "I hate you and you're so wrong because..." is being just as much of an asswipe of the creator and is lowering themselves to that level of stupidity. Anyone DIMWITTED MORON would know how idiotic it is to post out of spite. Like, only a moron would... ...go to an Anime Convention to say how stupid Japan is. ...praise Hitler infront of WWII veterens.
See? Blind opinions are for egotistic little bastards that have nothing better to do than sit on their a** and type about how much something is good or bad. It's okay to have an opinion of that kind...if you can shut the ******** up and keep it in your little jar of bad wiring you call a head. It's one thing to discuss a show, or topic with fellow people who agree with you, but it's quite another to go on and on to pro or con something. It just pisses me off how I go to any forum and see big ANTI threads. Seeing this s**t only makes me want to go to the thread and yell at how futile their efforts are...but I wont stoop to their level of mindreaming stupidity. Instead, all my opinions I have that I post in the forums are "neutral". (Yeah right...)
Like naked day...I'll probably wear clothes. Do I start ******** BOYCOTTING Naked Day? NO. I'm just gonna sit here and go about my usual business. The only reason I made a thread about it was to oppose the ******** little bitches that have to throw political views and religion into a little made-up, online event. It's so ******** stupid how people are actually making BANNERS with GEORGE ******** BUSH, and he's NAKED with a speech bubble proclaiming: "Supporting Naked Day, is like supporting our country...the right thing to do!" ...Well I always though there were pro's and con's to this country anyways but I'll save that for another time. Oh and people...it is ******** UP to think "Don't support Naked Day or Jesus will hate you." Okay, now I'm a buddhist so personally that message would have no effect on me, but I'm also a defender of people's rights so... I seriously doubt Jesus would care what a bunch of ******** up little teenagers do on an online roleplaying forum, unless it was against the Ten Commandments...well I don't see "Thou Shalt not invoke Naked Day." So I think you guys are safe...for now at least.
Oh, and I'm not sorry if I offended anyone because you came to MY journal to read this, nobody forced you, so if I get flamed by some jackoff...I'm just gonna stab them in the eye with a spoon. This is probably the most minor lump in the sea of s**t we call "offensive dialouge". It's a ******** WORD. "Oh my! The letters offend me so!" Anyone could find offense out of anything. Here I'll emphasize it for the stupid people: ANYONE could find OFFENSE out of ANYTHING. Why? I suppose most people are pessimistic little snots, who are paranoid that someone else's opinion could harm them. "Oh no! Someone else out there doesn't like InuYasha! WAIT HERE WHILE I KILL MYSELF FOR BEING ALONE." For chrissakes people! Why is it people have this sudden mindset where if they think they might LOSE an argument, they have to make a huge scene so people can pity them for being a ******** moron. And you know, all this could be solved a lot more quickly if people used "I think" or "In my opinion". Come on dipshits! WE LEARNED THIS IN ******** SCHOOL.
If the WASL has taught you anything, let it be that fact and opinions are not to be confused. I believe this is because opinions are more offensive than fact, just because people are s**t spewing assholes who care about nothing but themselves. Tell me which sounds more offensive though, "DIGIMON IS GAY." or "I don't like Digimon because..." Now I like Digimon so shut the ******** up if a random angry thought shot through your closed mind. Now if only the rest of the millions of people could understand my clear strand of logic. In my opinion, I perfer to be alone only because I think people are that annoying and are as clear as a puddle of mud. It's just unfortunate that I have to be human because I think if we were all animals, opinions about Sailor Moon vs. Dragon Ball Z would be the last things on our mind.

The only problem is your stuff is all opinion too. Some people enjoy those threads, some people make them specifically to bait other people. It's the internet, where being anonymous is paramount to allowing yourself become a total dickhead.
So essentially, your rant in itself is exactly what you're bitching about - no offense intended. Although I fit into one of your categories, of posting something people don't really want to hear in a forum dedicated to whatever I hate.
Hell, I don't even enjoy anime to the degree I did anymore, yet here I am in this guild. WHEE! whee

No offense taken, BE. We're all guilty of something but that doesn't mean we should try to help others from making the same mistake. For example, I'm using my opinion to help people...like advice, help doesn't HAVE to be taken. (And yes, I'm guilty of being a hypocrite but just maybe I can help people learn from my flaws and one day create a world of biodiversity.)
Adding this won't make any sense but it's fun to quote Alan Grant from Jurassic Park: The worst things imaginable can come from the best intentions.
sweatdrop (I don't think this post makes any sense so ignore it)

biggrin Yey. Don't worry about it. It was a good rant in the general "ranting sense" of the ranting word of ranting ( xd ) but I'd definitely put a disclaimer and/or header stating you know you're posting exactly what you're bitching out, if you're going to make that a public post. Otherwise, you're going to get 200 "WELL YOU DID TEH SAME THING IRL OMFG HACKER"

lol, yeah. The main point of the argument was opinions are not facts. I trailed off into many topics I felt that needed to be covered. But in the same way, the way I styled my writing was showing a good example of opinion.

You sort of lose the "opinion fact" idea after the third paragraph completely.

BE You sort of lose the "opinion fact" idea after the third paragraph completely. yeah... sweatdrop ...it's slowly flushes back into opinion/fact in the last paragraph though...this is what I get for tackling too many issues at once.

Sometimes I jokingly say things like, "Lord of the Rings is gay; the actors have male orgies backstage." When I say things like that it is pretty clear it is sarcasm. If I don't care for something, but did not have enough contact with it to express my opinion clearly, I will shut my mouth about it. Sometimes I wonder if we really have different opinions or if we just have different points of view, like those paintings two people can look at and both see something completely different.

Like BE said, all your opinion. (Though it is a good one) But sometimes, stating your opinion CAN in fact be helpful.
Take for instance, someone is so interested in something, the are going to go out and do something totally dangerous to them and those around you. Well, they stumble upon a thread or post, or whatever explaining the cons, maybe even the pros of said action. Who knows, it may change their mind of doing something unhealthy, or~, it might divert their attention for awhile. But you can never be sure.
Another thing, all facts probably started out as opinion anyway, I mean, what is the world without opinion? If you want to say it, say it. As long as you don't go screaming in my face or endangering me, I have o problem with it.

When I say it, it's gotta be true. surprised
EDIT: Also, people seem to love to jump into fights which they have no dog in. They weren't involved in the argument in the first place, but they feel the need to support the side that they think is right and voice what they think about the entire argument. Alot of dead arguments, get revived that way.

Sometimes a see a thread where the creator seems like the actually want to dissuse something, but then when I disagree, stating my ideas and giving reasons and examples, I get flammed.
