*Mystina growled, turning around and walking over to him, pressing up against him making sure his feathers and clothing wound up wet too* You jerk.... why cold water?! you could have made it warm! *She doesn't even NOTICE the fact she's in a white t-shirt and...is rather indecent*

Sent chuckled as heboth pushed her away and pinched just the right spot as a demonstration. He shook his head, "You crack me up sometimes babe."

Back in the Forge again, Tac had set the power cores aside, he would have to take them to Aetas later. He unholstered the decaying wretch that was Orcus, staring at him for a moment before setting to work. All the current components were more than enough for what was to come.

*Mystina laughed and grinned* Let's go home for a bit so Aetas doesn't smite us... *she smirked, her anger fading away*

~~Several Days later-The Forge~~

"Tac...have you seen her? Have you seen Mystina?" Tac turned back to look at Sent, he looked like hell, Tac shook his head, but not in denial, "I told you to not get attached. I don't know how many times I've told you not to get attached to things. We had this exact same discussion about Lucky. What happened? Hmm? Yeah, he rode that meteor and wiped out all the dinosaurs. If he hadn't been on it they may have survived, but NOOOO." Sent leaned against the wide doorframe, "n...No. You don't understand. She wasn't just a pet you insensitive a*****e." Tac glared at him, his horns flaring up beneath his hair giving his head an unholy glow as he slowly unholstered Orcus from his right side, bringing him up and aiming at the man. He twitched slightly as he narrowed his eyes at the Herald, "Y...you hear tha Orcanus? You hear what he said? I don't understand. h...He thinks I don't understand. Oh shut the ******** up." Orcanus twitched in his hand as several shots rang out, missing an immobile Sent by less than an inch apiece, "y...You have no idea whats its like to be away from the one you love for thirteen ******** years. I...I haven't seen her, heard her, felt her touch. I can't even look at a glass of fine wine! Tell me I don't understand...tell me again!"

Sent stared at Tac, trembling, "b...But I may never see her again...at all." Tac nodded, "Thats a possibility, yes, but you must also realize that each time I fade out from the Brink, there's the chance I'll never return. Think about that before you start telling me I don't understand. Each and every single time I've been there recently, she hasn't. Besides...I'm sure Aetas can help. Go ask...and, um, while you're there, give him this." A piece of folded paper found its way to Sent's hand as he slowly stood, "What...?" Tac shook his head, "Don't open it. Its personal. As he's the same person as me I don't feel too bad about him reading and translating it. And Sent, don't worry about it, I'm sure you'll see her again some day. Likely not here...but you will."

Tac stood at the center of the Tower on the very first floor, surrounded by the Doors. Tac's headhung limp, chin to his chest and his bright orange hair falling around his face. Caritanas and Orcanus were in his hands, glowing slightly as veins of green and orange extended up into Tac's arms. Sent peeked over the railing, speaking softly, "Tac? He finished it." Tac nodded, speaking almost too low to be heard, "Bring it down to me please." Sent jumped over the railing, the small note he was carrying fluttering out of his hands, barely touching a door as it began to shimmer. As the note near the ground it floated out away from the door and then swooped back, passing under it. Sent gasped and looked at Tac, "I'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorry! Please Don't kill me!" Tac shook his head, "Its fine, just go through the door before it closes." Sent looked at him curiously, "What do you mean?" Tac chuckled slightly as he holstered his weapons, looking up with a smirk as he snapped them in place, "We used to be the god of Fate, maybe he just got nostalgic. Once you get there...keep the note to remember us."

Outside the Old Man was long gone, nearly ten days had passed since Sent last saw Mystina, trying to occupy himself with taking the Old Man's place, but now he was being given the oppurtunity to go to her...see his child born. He looked to the door, and then back at Tac, "But what abou..." Tac interupted, "It wasn't meant to be. I'll just have to hope I have the time. So it goes. Go to her. Be with her. Support her. Be a better man for her than I can be for Cora."

High above Aetas sat in his private chamber shaking his head. He sighed, thinking aloud, "Such a naive way of thinking. He'll learn. He'll learn. Hell, it'll only be another minute or so."

Sent tried to speak but Tac drew Cari and aimed between his eyes, "You really don't get it. We're trying to help you. Now just shut up and go." Sent shook his head, backing towards the door, "I was going to say goodbye, bu..." He was interupted by a gunshot, a blank. Tac glared at him, "You should have realized by now time is nothing to waste. Through the door, now. I don't sdo goodbye well." As Sent grabbed the door handle both Sent and Tac seemed to fade from sight.

Aetas smirked as he leaned back in his large armchair, "I love it when I'm right. At least now I'm starting to the right things with my power after so long...Maybe one day even I will be rewarded."

Tac slowly began to materialize, laying down in the center of the Twelve Doors, all his clothes discarded. His holster and grenade belt lay on the ground not far from him as he was rudely awakened by the cold stone floors and the familiar echo and ring that filled his ears. For a brief moment he was numb to his thoughts, nothing coming through, but as he sat up he drew his legs in, the memory of what happened the night before washing over him. Her face...her clothes...her hair. He had always known somehow he would have to face a harsh reality as what happened to her, but he never could have imagined he'd experience it so soon. He simply couldn't take it...they had destroyed her, and when she went back, they'd finish the job.

He slowly stood, floating off the ground as the very air around him began to bend, condense, and contort. Even light was drawn to him as the gravity field around him skyrocketed to insane strength. Everything began to distort as the light reflected from the surfaces was distorted and even the air in the room began to condense before him. A vaccuum pulled through the Tower as air rushed down to fill the space of the air that was being drawn to him. He was left in darkness as his anger began to erupt from within him...

Light began to bend and slowly the Tower began to waiver, in reality and appearance. The stones began to bend and crack, shattering as shards flew off and were drawn to the very bottom floor, adding to the orb forming around Tac. All air was pushed outwards as a sudden force tore through the area, everything held perfectly still for half a moment as it rushed to catch up with Gravity. The Chronos Tower exploded outward leaving a vaccuum that held for many moments, Tac suspended at the center.

As air rushed back in and the light returned Aetas was slammed into the ground before Tac, the Twelve Doors remaining undamaged. Caritanas and Orcanus darted to Tac's hands as he held them to Aetas' head, keeping him pinned down by insane gravimetric forces. His voice had changed, he was no longer a peaceful man driven to protect life, he just wanted to end it all if he could save her. The first sharp words tore at Aetas's ears as they began to bleed, "TAKE ME TO HER!" Aetas gurgled slightly, trying to speak, "I...I can't. Can't change timelines, you know that. I...I can do one thing. I can promise. Promise. You'll see her again."

Tac unloaded several clips worth of ammo into Aetas's face, the rage not subsiding. Cari and Orcanus finally cut him off, so he kneeled down and began bashing Aetas's face in, again and again and again. Orange and green blood covered the white marble floor, smoke slowly rising as Tac finally fell back, too exhausted to continue. Regardless, he kept trying to hit at Aetas in any way possible, the gravity holding him down subsiding as well.

Aetas slowly stood, looking down at his avatar behind a shattered visage, blood plastered over his clothes and dripping from his mangled face. He shook his head slowly, "Tac...you know I can't. Everything will be fine. You'll see her again, I guarantee you that fact." Tac could do nothing but cry.

~~Days Later~~

Aetas had constructed a small hut to reside within while he awaited the power to return to him to be able to rebuild the Tower. Sending Sent to Faerie wasn't exactly the easiest thing he'd ever done. Tac slumped into the Hut as Aetas completed his meditations, sighing as the orange and green walls were refrshed with a fresh coat for today. "Tac, each day you've come here, and each day you try to splatter my brains across the wall."

Tac repeated the process, several times before he spoke, "I'll stop if you let me go to her. I can't let her die. I couldn't save her from them destroying her, but you can give me the chance to allow her to be alive on the edge of living. One day she can live again." Aetas let out a brief sigh, "I can't. I can fix your speech problem if you like though." Tac shook his head, "No, to her, or nothing. I'll destroy myself if need be. I'll die just to ressurect once more and force my next life to be in her time." Aetas shook his head once more, "You're on the right track, but I can't let you end your life. What can I do to convince you that you'll see her again?" Tac leaned against the hut and dropped Cari, "Take me to her."

Aetas rubbed his temples for a moment before turning to look at Tac, his face hanging off his skull as the exit wound exploded outward. The hanging pieces jiggled and swung back and forth as he spoke, "Tacitus 'Jordan Daize' Nusradai, how many times do I have to tell you no?" Tac narrowed his eyes at the god, "Until you give in. Don't call me Jordan." Aetas slowly stood and walked towards Tac, "I can't allow you to see her world. If you went as you are, or in your next body, your rage would boil over and you'd wipe out any chance her world has at salvation." Tac tried to punch him in the face, but Aetas caught his hand. Tac strained against the god's superior might, "You can't expect me to sit idly by knowing what they will do to her." Aetas threw him back, "You have no idea what will happen. I know, I've seen it. I even visited her world myself. I watched everything that poor woman had to endure. I feel just the same way you do, but plans are in place and I simply can't let you go right now." Tac righted himself with a shift in gravity, landing on his feet and unloading several more clips into what should be Aetas' left eye, producing little result. Tac dropped his weapons, breathing heavily, "You. Are. The god of Time! When it happens shouldn't matter!" Aetas conceeded to this fact, "Yes, but not just yet. Soon, but you won't be going. In time you will know, you'll know everything. You must have patience when dealing with Time." Tac let out a sigh as he slumped to the ground, "Now I know why people hate us." He looked back up to the god, voice shifting to Jordan's, "But I swear ta god, if ya don't keep yo promise to us, we'll kill ya."

Aetas shook his head and plopped down next to his Avatar, putting an arm around him as if he were a little brother, "Come now, We've waited for so much in our lives. What's two more lifetimes?" Tac shrugged him off, "TWO LIFETIMES?!?" Aetas cringed slightly, he really didn't want to get shot in the face anymore, "Yes, but one of them will be rather short. If it means that much to you I'll show you right after it happens. Because you aren't affected by temporal adjustments, usually, if I change what happens in any way after it occurs it will always have occured and you'll know it. God I love temporal mechanics when I actually know what the hell I'm talking about." Too bad for Aetas Tac wanted straight answers. After a few more gunshots Tac lightly slapped Aetas on the cheek, "Why not tell me now?" Aetas picked a chunk of bone away from his face, "You have free will. If I change the future before it happens to you, it'll change. If I change an event after its occured, you'll remember it. Its highly complicated in this instance. But Tac, I must impose upon you the fact that if you don't want to see it, you don't have to, which I'd prefer." Tac shook his head as he slowly rose to his feet, "No, Aetas. I must see her." Aetas sighed, "In Time...In Time."

Nearly a month later, or so it seemed, Tacitus and Aetas were once again in the Chronos Tower, sitting opposite one another, staring from the comfort of the rather large chairs. The tower had rebuilt itself and had begun to send out a beacon of sorts, drawing beings of temporal energies to the Tower in hopes of one day being able to open it to all, or at least anchor it on a single plane.

For the second time...a door opened.
