 The following posts contain the RULES AND REGULATIONS and CONSEQUENCES for and of the Literate Spambox guild. All members, staff included, will be expected to follow these accordingly without exception unless granted by me personally. Any such acts against the rules will be subject to deletion, warning, and / or banishment (see "Punishment"). All information in this thread are subject to change without warning.
By posting in this guild, you agree to the following: you have read and agreed to the rules and regulations, you will continue to abide by any and all rules regardless of the event of change at any given time, and you accept all consequences listed.

:: OFFENSES ::The following is a list of things that one MAY NOT do at any point in the guild, pending exception under my own approval. Failure to comply with these rules will be subject to punishment accordingly (see "Punishment"). Rules are subject to change at any point, and will be updated in the event that such an action is required.Use of overly abusive language
Please remain courteous and respectful to your fellow guildmembers and gaians. Avoid using higher level cursing, excessive yelling, and any flaming/trolling to a bare minimum.
Advertising
Advertising includes linking of any kind to another guild / shop / ect except where allowed. You may advertise in your signature, as that is a global feature not directly associated with this guild, but you may not advertise or promote your signature to incite people to click on it.
Illegible posting
Any posting deliberately made illegible by the user can and will be deleted. Illegibility is based on the ability for members of the guild to read the sentence in question. Avoid use of internet short-hand or "leetspeak" such as "u"/"ur", "da", "/|/00|3", ect. Use punctuation and capitalization as necessary, and keep your sentences from running on.
Cybering
Cybering includes any sexual behavior such as intercourse, oral sex, inappropriate touching, over emphasis or description on any "private parts", or anything of such orientation.
Flaming
Flaming is defined as making personal attacks and/or insults on to another user, whether in this guild or not. Generalization is fine, as long as no particular user is targeted.
Begging
Quest threads and things of the such are permitted, however threads/posts such as "plz donate" and "give me gold!" are not. Begging threads/posts are not only unnecessary, but are downright annoying. Don't do it.
Bumping
It's understood that threads may fall onto page two or higher and lose the public view, but please refrain from "bumping" them. "Bumping" is defined as making a post with irrelevant / nonsensical information (usually the word "bump") specifically to bring your thread back to the front page. If you would like to bring your thread to attention once again, please post something relevant to the topic.
:: RIGHTS ::The proceeding is a series of user and crew rights granted to the members of this guild. You may use the proceeding for any purpose including appeals against allegations, posting references, and anything of the sort. Again, this list is subject to change, however there will be an annoucement of such action in event.
User rightsSpeech
You have the right to speak your opinion. You, however, are limited in this right by the prohibition in expressing things of a slanderous/hateful nature directed to one or more user or group. Furthermore, you are restricted by any and all rules that have been outlined in this thread. "Grey areas" will be dealt with individually.
Appealing
You have the right to appeal against the decision of a crew member should you find an action unfair in some matter, or that this action violates your rights. Appeals must be submitted to me via PM along with time/date of incident, description of the action, and reason for the appeal. (see "Making an appeal")
Locking
You may request that a topic you had started be locked by a crew member at any given time. Should you choose to do so, please PM a crew member with a link to the topic and reason you wish to be locked. You may only request that threads that YOU have created be locked.
Deletion
You may request that a topic or post be deleted by a crew member. Should you wish to request this, PM a crew member with a link to the post or thread along with a reason for this request. Again, only threads or posts that YOU have created may be deleted under your request.
Reporting
Should you find a thread or post that fails to follow the rules or violates your rights, you have the option to report it via PM to a crew member. In such an event, include a link and short description of the violation. Crew will review the situation and handle it accordingly.
Crew rightsTopic locking
Crew have the right to lock any topic they see as inappropriate or against the rules in some way. Topics may also be locked should the situation become out of hand (e.g. fighting, excessive arguements, ect).
Deletion
Deletion is subject to request. Crew may not delete topics or posts unless in direct violation of the illegible posting or cybering rules. Deletion may also occur in the event of request by either the owner of the thread/topic and/or the captain.
Post alteration
A crew member may alter a post at any given time should they feel it violates the rules of the guild or of the gaia online community. In such an event, a foot note will be attached with the time/date, reason for post alteration, and the name of the crew member.
Refusal of service
Crew members hold the right to refuse any requests sent to them should there be a valid reason to do so. Any refused requests will be responded to with the corresponding reason via PM.
Banishment
Crew members hold the right to ban a user with a valid reason. Valid reasons may include multiple instances of the user violating the rules (see "Punishment"), Gaia online TOS violation, ect. If the user feels they have been banished unjustly, an appeal may be made.
Invitation to guild
Any crew member may invite any person to the guild either by decision or by request. It is up to the crew member in question to make judgement on if the user is a good addition to our community and that they will follow the rules.
Captain rightsOverview
As captain, I hold rights to ban, alter, invite, delete, lock anyone and anything with or without explanation. I hold the final say in all matters and hold right to change the rules and regulations with or without notice. I may choose to appoint and demote staff as necessary, but until it is necessary, I shall not appoint anyone beyond the current staff.
Co-Captain
The Co-Captain(s) of this guild hold the same rights and privileges that I hold. All activity is monitored, so in the event that you feel your rights have been violated, an appeal may be made.

:: REPORTING ::This section will instruct you on how to report a post of a thread in the Literate Spambox. One should only use this in the event of a post or thread that violates the rules of the community, or disrupts the flow of play. There are no guarentees that your report will have action taken upon it, nor is there any guarentee that a reason will be supplied in the event of rejection.

:: APPEALING ::This section will instruct you on how to make an appear requesting a reveral of an action. All actions taken by mods and the captain can be appealed against, however it is up to the captain to decide whether or not the appeal will go though. There is no guarentee that your appeal will become validated, but in the event that it is rejected, you will be given a reason via PM.

:: WARNINGS ::Warnings operate on a set scale of one per incident, up to a total of five. You may be warned for breaking the rules of the guild, or for creating a disturbance in the guild that causes unrest among the other members (even if it is not listed in the rules). The guild captain has full authority to give and repeal warnings as seen fit at any point, while the staff does so when any rule is broken. For every warning, there is a consequence, each more severe than the last (see below).First warning
This is your first and only warning that will be free of consequence. Though there is no punishment attached to this, it should not be taken lightly, as any additional misbehavior will be dealt with accordingly.
Second warning
6 hour banishment
Third warning
2 day banishment
Fourth warning
8 days banishment
Final warning
1 month banishment
Any additional warning
Permanent banishment and a place on the black list.
Banishments will start at noon the following day (based on central standard time), and will be added to the records for public viewing as well as for record keeping. Note that warnings will only occur once per action, however in the event of multiple instances of action against the rules, warnings may be given per incident.
:: AUTOMATIC BANISHMENT ::Due to the nature of Gaia terms of standards, the guild master is responsible for the occurings of the actions the guildmembers partake. So, in the event of a direct Gaia TOS violation, the post in question WILL BE deleted, and the user banished. The following is a list of actions that will cause automatic banishment, based directly on the Gaia Online TOS. Posting, graphically portraying, or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racist or otherwise objectionable.
Promoting the idea of, or directly harming minors in any way.
Impersonating any person or entity, including, but not limited to, GAIA Online officials, Forum moderators, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
Posting, transmitting, or otherwise making available any content that you do not have the rights to.
Posting, transmitting, linking to or otherwise making available any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
Verbally abusing or harrassing other GAIA Online Users on a persistent basis - otherwise known as "Stalking".
Collecting or storing personal data from other GAIA Online Users.
Making any threats - real or otherwise - of any sort regarding other Users or the GAIA Online Service.
Promoting the harm of an individual, group, or institution.
