NinetailedNightmare Captain

"Where do you think you're going?" A pair of glimmering crimson eyes bore into the the green-skinned child before them, narrowing just a bit. She knew this look. She knew what he was expecting. He was expecting her to stomp and huff and puff and try and tear out of the house, but today she was going to surprise him. Because today was... different. It felt different. Noelle shifted in her stance and gazed at her guardian solemnly, who only quirked a brow in response. What new tricks was she trying to play?
"I need to go to the lab, Talis. I'm being called."
"Do you have any idea of what time it is?" The dark man implored cooly, unaffected.
"Do you?"
A thin smirk ran across the man's features. There was not a clock to be had in the house. The microwave's clock was always blank. There was no sun today, much to her disappointment. No cloud would budge outside this day, though. It was exceptionally dark, just like their apartment. The Ninetailed Nightmare was probably reveling in it. "It is late."
"I'm a big girl now, I can handle myself." She remarked with a slow, amused smile. "Now, please, move out of the way." When he didn't, she stared flatly. "I have a... feeling that I need to be there. If I do, and I'm not there just because you're insecure about letting me out, what do you think is going to happen?"
"Is that a threat?"
"No... Of course not." She stepped closer, eyes flickering past him to the front door he was blocking.
Talis studied her, giving her a once-over before visibly twitching when she touched his shoulders. Oh, no. She was going to try and hug him! Hands shot out and blocked the girl, shoving her backwards by the hips with only enough force to cause her to retreat a little. "Don't bring anything unfavorable home. And don't expect me to come save you."
"I won't. Thank you, Daddy." She brushed past him and opened the door, keeping a hidden smile to herself when the man snarled viscously. She'd won. Maybe he'd just stopped caring. What she was wandering about now, though, was why she was getting such strong feelings to go to the lab.
~~
"Well, it seems everyone decided to pay a late-night visit to the lab." She commented as she approached the group at long, steady strides. She was dressed in a pair of khaki capri pants and a simple black shirt. Nothing huge as far as her sense of style went. If it weren't for her sneakers, one could suggest it was sleep-wear.
"Ritsuki. What's going on?" She asked the yellow one, bluntly asking the question that made her mind itch. They were here for the same reason, no doubt. She ignored the other girl.

The lab was different, and it wasn’t just the absence of the lights and air-conditioning. It had felt different, hushed and far more secretive then usual, as if there were something brewing below the surface that had become taboo to speak of expect behind closed doors or in hushed whispers in the hallways – ones that end abruptly is Donovan were to appear. He had paid it little heed at first, secure in the knowledge that if they were meant to know that Shy would tell them, that was until he had been struck by strange sensation. Appendages tingled with peculiar electricity; the very world around Donovan seemed to grow sluggish and mere moments seemed to linger on forever – until finally Donovan was able to endure it no longer. With his pass slung on a chain around his neck, Donovan set off in search of the man that possessed the answers to the question brewing within his mind.
Invariably, Donovan’s path lead him toward the buildings entrance as if subconsciously drawn their by the presence of the other fae. Yet there sudden appearance in his vision still came as a surprise. As it had been at the castle, most of the fae were children, and Donovan found himself greatly relieved to see the familiar presence of Ritsuki and another teenage fae that he couldn’t place a name too.
“If you missed one then I missed it too” Donovan replied quietly as he crossed the room to stand at Ritsuki’s side. Dark eyes flickered Noelle, easily identifiable from her colouring and curt attitude, offering a slight nod in greeting. He still found the girl an intimidating figure.

Nereida eyed the three teenaged fae uneasily. She'd met Ritsuki and Noelle before, but the blue one was new, and she'd never been face to face with three at once. Sizing the situation up, she made her move.
"Shy's office is on the thirteenth floor," she remembered outloud. "We should go look for him."
She paused and looked around the darkened lobby. "I don't think the elevators are working.

Kayce blinked. "It seemed like the most logical place to come to, all things considered," she replied in response to Ritsuki's slightly rhetorical-seeming question.
She did turn a jaundiced eye to the green-skinned fae with the attitude problem. It was teenaged and female, which meant that she and Kayce would likely never get along properly. The boy didn't seem too bad, even if he was a bit creepy with the dark blue skin and quiet voice. Those two, plus Ritsuki and the other teen female fae whose name she couldn't remember, seemed to be the only 'older' fae present. All of the rest were children, even tall snobby Dierdre (who was thankfully far enough away from Kayce that she wasn't a bother). Now what?
Nereida did put forth an excellent idea. "There are stairs through that door. I'm not sure if they go all of the way to the thirteenth floor, though," Kayce said, pointing toward the door to the right of Beth's desk. "I just took them to the next floor when I was here before."

It was cold. He didn't even know why he was out here. Why had he left his warm home near the woods to wander halfway across town to the lab? Daemyn didn't know, but he was more than just a little uneasy. He'd never felt so odd to be in his own skin. For whatever reason, though, he was here, sneaking unconsciously up to the group to try and catch the bits of conversation.
These were all fae, he realized. All like him, and yet barely any he knew. Well, he didn't know any of them really, but he recognized a few. Like the green teen with the red hair and the silver-skinned boy-child to the far side of him. Like he usually did in situations similar to these, Daemyn listened.
The power seemed to be out in the whole lab. Was it unusual considering the angry sky above? Hm. Perhaps he did belong here, but what good could he be? The prospect of walking into the dark didn't scare him at all. Sometimes, at night, he pretended he was dark enough to even blend into it, or in the corners of a shady room. The oppertunity of adventure thrilled him easily considering he had been raised by a woman afraid to touch the doorknobs of a public restroom and ran from the room after she put something in the microwave.

Ritsuki brightened even more with the appearance of the other two teens. There was something wrong, that was for sure. It wasn't normal for them all to just appear outside the lab -not without something important happening. But even without electricity, this was still better than the castle. Most of them basically knew their way around, and if they didn't, the teens could access most of the building. "Well, it looks as though most of us were drawn to the lab by something. I was already here, so I didn't notice it. Beth and Shy are MIA, and most of the power's out. But since the doors obviously still work, not all of the systems are fried." She nodded, saying everything she knew about the situation.
She wanted to hug Noelle -it'd been a very long time since she'd seen the girl- and she would have, had she not thought the other fae would slap her upside the head. It was going to be an interesting adventure, to say the least. "We should try to find everyone. Not just Shy, but the others, too. I didn't see any sign of the tutors, but they might just have been sleeping." All things considered, they might have been. There was no way to tell what time it was. They were in the dark. Both literally and figuratively. "But even in this way, it's good to see you again, Noelle, Donnie." She smiled to them both respectively.

Aurion had arrived into the building with Novean in tow and felt something was quite amiss. " I don't like this at all...." He thought to himself as he heard voices of the other fae and walked forward to them, recognizing Ritsuki's right off. As he reached her and her group, his blue eyes darted back and forth. " Has anyone found out anything thus far?"
Novena giggled. She loved the dark and this was almost fun. Her blood red orbs scanned over the room, as she felt it easier to see in the dark. " I think its nice.. no lights.."

Tomoko was scared. She was alone.. it was dark, she didn't have a friend or papa Kasu to hold her and she began to whimper, the buzzing of her wings growing louder.
