At this point, it would appear the 2.5 mile trioval would probably serve as a testing spot rather than a race venue, but I would like to see a race done at Daytona.....

Part of the testing included if they agree to this will be trying out the banking.

Awesome! I know one of the bigger problems with IRL racing at the superspeedways is the G-forces. Do you ever watch the telemetry when they run on a bigger track? The G-forces go up to like 4 Gs. I think at the superspeedways there is a risk of the drivers blacking out.

Actually when Talladega first opened Mark Donahue and A.J Foyt took their cars and blew by Buddy Bakers record 200 in his Dodge Daytona. A.J. in his IRL car topped at 217.854 mph. The late Mark topped even higher in his sports car in 1975 with over 220 mph. So its not like those cars can't handle the speeds. Still though it may be a little shakey for them.

Agreed, how could they even think about that? Although awesome, I don't think it'll happen.

I wonder if their engines would hold out for a long race at Daytona unrestricted. They rev a lot of RPMs you know...
