I despise death. The fact that others think people should or have to die makes me think that people are devaluing life to the point Where it comes to the level where we don't punish murder anymore.
I now find, though, that I'm against the death penalty for the same reason I'm for abortion. Reassessing my opinion of late, I've found that supporting abortion works for me, despite my objections to all kinds of death.
Is the fetus a life? yes. Is the fetus human? It is.
But these two facts don't override a woman's need to have complete control over the direction of her life. When it comes to certain circumstances that cause a woman to make a choice like abortion, you have to respect that one option in resolving the situation is not going to work for everyone. You have to respect that people, in being different, are not going to respond to a crisis in the same way.
When you're not ready for a child, a pending birth is a crisis.
I feel that supporting certain life choices, the very ones that give people the freedom to shape and make their lives into something that suits them is fair. And it seems illogical to not support a life choice because a) People have a moral objection, or b) They feel that it's against what they believe is right.
When you want to make a decision, you need to know that there's more than one choice to make. One of those choices is abortion, and I think it's good that it's a choice one can make, even if they don't have to.

Its both the point of the pro life and pro choice points of veiw. Actually made me have goose bumps.

I personally believe that birthing every fetus that comes along devalues life. When pregnancy and a child are wanted, life is valuable and worthwhle, however when pregnancy is forced and children are unwatned, life is no longer precious and special, but a duty, a punishment. To to make a child a punishment is more dehumanizing and devaluing of life than abortion could ever be.
Without death, life is not special. Eliminating death redcues life.

Good show, McPhee.
That is the basis of my belief. I value life in all forms. I value it so much that to force it to be made against the will of another using the resources of another is to degrade and devalue it, much like making money will ye nil ye causes gross inflation. What importance is life if it's being pumped out without concern for quality?

Very well put, Mcphee-kun! 3nodding The reason I'm the way I am, and believe the way I do, is almost exactially like that... except a bit more selfish. I want there to be a safe option if I ever get pregnat because I never wish to have a child. Ever. Period. eek I should have to birth something that was feeding off me and moving under my flesh. gonk That just creeps the heck outta me!

Aye, most definitely. Beautiful, McPhee! I believe that the bond between mother and child is sacred... To see if devalued as baby-making-machines and the such is disturbing to me.
My art a big point in my life. Yet if I were to be forced to churn out piece after piece after piece... Then would art still be that heavenly thing?
