This is so depressing.

I got this wonderful little kitten for my birthday, and I just found out that she might have FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). What exactly it is I'm not entirely sure, but it's a terminal illness and there's no treatment for it. She tested positive for it, but the vet told me that it doesn't necessarily mean she's got it, just that she has the antibodies against it. It's possible that she may have come into contact with it when she was younger and fought it off, but I don't know. And the only way to find out for sure is through autopsy, which means I won't know until it's too late.

It kills me thinking about how this great little cat I've got could only live for a few more months. It's not fair. =(

And I've also got to worry about my other cat getting it ... so now I have to take HER to the Vet and have the same tests done, which will be pretty costly.

Awww, that's too bad... I love cats, and have 9 of them here. surprised We mainly keep them inside, and they've all tested negative for everything. But still... I hope your kitten and cat will be ok!

And I know where that costly part comes in. xd

Sad! I hope the older kitty doesn't get sick. Waiting for bad news is horrible.

Well she seems pretty healthy right now, so hopefully I'll have some good fortune for once and she'll never develop any symptoms. He did say that it's about a 50/50 kinda thing.

I've never been able to bear a death of one of my pets. I'm sorry to hear.
