I figured since we hadn't got a "What are you listening to?" thread, it was time to have one.
I recently splashed out on CDs in the Woolworths sale and also online. I am now the proud owner of a Knight Rider soundtrack (loving KARR's signature theme!). I also got Supertramp's Retrospectacle (aka Greatest Hits), Chicago, Hall & Oates and the Monkees.
So what are you guys listening to? What do you like to listen to and why?
I'm stuck in a time warp - I like very little from beyond around 1989, as that's when my folks stopped listening to the charts. I grew up with my parents' sixties albums, the local oldies station and also their taste in things like Queen and Roxy Music.
Radio 2 is my favourite radio station (although if I lived in London I would live for Capital Gold) and Mojo is my favourite digital station.
I also have a penchant for collecting soundtracks, both movie and TV. The pride of my collection are probably The NeverEnding Story (I was so happy when I found that!) and The Mysterious Cities of Gold, although I also love my Animaniacs and now Knight Rider.

Lately it seems like I've been in a neverending cycle of the soundtracks for Kingdom Hearts II, FF VII: Advent Children, and FullMetal Alchemist....not that I'm complaining, mind you. smile
But, as far as my musical tastes go, I'm pretty open-minded towards all types, except for country (they don't even TRY to beat the stereotype...) and christian (God knows a buttkisser : P). Though, I do have some types I tend to gravitate more towards...rock and dance, for instance.
Of course, one wouldn't know what to think of my tastes if they were to see the majority of my cd collection...about 90% of it is soundtracks for games or anime. And any albums of certain artists are usually ones relating to said soundtracks...Crush 40, Utada Hikaru, etc.
Oh, and Wierd Al. I don't think anyone could deny his awesomeness. XP (Btw, new album coming out Sept. 26th; can't wait!)

Weird Al ftw! I love the Star Wars related ones - The Saga Begins, Star Wars Cantina, Yoda... I also adore Can't Watch This, The Brady Bunch, Jerry Springer and that eBay song that I need to get hold of.
I see his website is offering free downloads of You're Pitiful, the James Blunt parody. Given how much I loathe the original, I'm looking forward to listening to that...

Oh yes, "You're Pitiful" was an instant classic...at least to those of us who quickly tired of James Blunt's mumble-like crooning. : p
It's just a shame that that track won't be on the album...It's download-only. Still, I'm sure his new album will be just as good without it.

Could anyone tell me why it is impossible to find Mental as Anything's "Live It Up" on any download service? I've tried easymusic, iTunes, Virgin Digital, HMV downloads, Woolworths and Tesco.com. I know it's available on their greatest hits CD and on some CD for doing the housework (don't ask) - but I don't want to buy an entire CD for the one track I adore.
Anyone else have a song they'd love to get hold of but can't find legally?
I must remember to hunt out Dave Clark Five's "Everybody Knows" next time I'm on iTunes.
All kudos to iTunes & Virgin though - they both have the theme to the NeverEnding Story in its 12" glory. Once I move house, that is mine! smile
