Please don't read this if you have a weak mind

The shadows of the jungle were thick upon the air, the humidity not halting even in the dead of the night. Mafujo was pleased with his latest kills, the retch of blood and the screams still fresh on his senses. At the moment, he was growing sick of the lands around him, and now was wandered through the plains near the jungle, just searching for entertainment like the last juvenile lion he met a few week prior.

Now, he had no sense of the old lion, and didn't have any games to play. While blood was fun, it was just getting old like the jungle, and so all he wished to do was mess with minds and dement the souls of others. Hopefully, as he wandered aimlessly, he would run into a slumbering lion or something. It was always fun to toy with their senses while they were sleeping. You could sneak up in silence and whisper in their ears to make them have nightmares. Mafujo loved seeing other wake from nightmares, the horror of their eyes made his blood rush.

"Now...where would I be if I was hiding in the hills."

Amleth was padding in circles around a tree, leaping from gnarled root to gnarled root and humming under her breath. Bored, bored, bored. She knew they'd be going traveling soon, but she wasn't sure where. She hoped it was some place nicer than the Graveyard, but with how scary her new 'masters' were, it probably wouldn't be.

"Hup..." she yelped, as she tripped off one of the roots and landed roughly on her face. "Blech!"

The small lioness pulled herself up and shook her coat free of dust, letting her crimson eyes rove across the landscape for a moment. Some pale form was approaching... Amleth sat and watched as it came closer.

"Hello?"

Ears flickering suddenly, a feral smirk rose from his maw at the sound of another, the sound of a female. Glancing towards a tree, he mentally targeted the area, and soon enough he came upon the sight of Amleth, as if she were waiting for him all along.

"Hello there..." He said with a deep purr, moving closer to her small form as he licked his lips, "I don't believe we have met yet...my name is Mafujo..." Slowly, his eyes scanned her pelt, the dark blood red color lacking it's usual warm glow of pink. Lifting his eyes back to hers, they were pleased with his find, deeming her worth of his 'games'.

"Huh?" Amleth replied, in a classicly confused manner. "Uhh, no, we haven't!" She padded forward a few steps to get a look at the leopard. She thought it was a leopard anyway.. he didn't have a mane and he wasn't skinny like a cheetah...

"Um," she said again, looking a bit uncomfortable as he stared at her. "I'm Amleth." After all, it was only proper to return introductions, even if they were with strange leopards. She sat down and curled her tail around her small haunches, still watching Mafujo curiously.

"Amleth," He clearly tested the name on his maw, smirking once more afterwards and still keeping eyecontact after her every move. As she curled her tail around her haunches, he noteded how much smaller she was, even for a lion, and his gaze darkened.

Not mimicing her settle, he stepped closer and let out a deep, throaty purr, his teeth flashing in the moonlight. His whole form shone with power, his legs thick with muscle and his eyes clearly keen on his prey. Soon enough, he started to circle her, before pausing a second to sniff her scent. She was indeed quite young.

"Dear Amleth, what are you doing out here all alone? There are...creatures who would love to take advantage of your...folly."

Amleth blinked, become more and more uncomfortable with every passing second. Why was he looking at her like that, anyway? And what was he purring for? She laid her dark ears back and settled for watching him with mild caution.

"I'm not alone!" She supplied quickly, looking about. "I'm only waiting for my friend to come back." It was true, she was waiting for Duhushi...and for their larger 'masters' to return, as well.

"Folly?" she repeated, sounding a bit frightened.

Upon her comment of not being alone, he snapped his eyes around the area until the rest of her sentence came out. Looking back at her, he smirked deeper and just appeared to be pleased, his blood red eyes shimmering with mirth.

"There are more of you, oh how quant!" He nodded to confirm his words, and just settled on his haunches in a relaxed manor, just for a bit.

"It is by your own stupidity that you left yourself alone...and now it is your turn to suffer from that...now that I am here. You should be thankful I am the one to punish you...others would do so much worse," And he said it all without a bat of his eye, as if nothing was wrong with his views on the subject.

Amleth lowered herself to the ground protectively, crimson eyes wide with what was now approaching fear. The pale feline before her who had at first seemed almost friendly now appeared frightfully mad.

"T..there's Duhushi, and Tanaka and Kiuma.. and they're really BIG!" she said, trying to scare him. Though she knew the latter two wouldn't come to her aid anyway.

"I'm not stupid... I.. what are you going to do?" she yelped, scooting backwards and glancing around to look for any ways out of her situation.

He ignored her fear and her skittering, raising his paw and unsheithing his claws with one quick snap. Gazing at his claws, he continued to speak, though ever few seconds his eyes flickered back to where she was inching away, not ready to let her go.

"There are many different options I could take. The easiest would be to kill you....though I have never been 'easy'. But than I could torture that pretty little pelt of yours, possibly by carving all of those dark markings out, one by one." He seemed to trail over all of them, and just paused a moment to let her sink it in.

"Or I can play a little cat and mouse...than kill you...Or there is always better ways, more enjoyable with less blood, though I do love blood..."

Amleth's gaze snapped to his unsheathed claws, and she almost unconsciously extended her own, digging nervously at the dirt below her paws.

"You.. you wouldn't kill me, you.. there's no reason, I haven't done anything..!" she said haltingly, body still lowered to the ground, tail lashing behind her with an erratic sort of anxiousness.

As he went on describing the many things he could do to her, she pulled her head down even further between her shoulders, saying nothing, but still backing slowly away.

As she backed away, he finally noticed and stood with a laugh, "Why must you run, it only will make matters worse for you," with that, he padded towards her and lowered his own head, clearly on the prowl.

"I think I shall enjoy the cat and mouse senario, though when I catch you, I will decide what to do than...but for now, I advise you get ready to run." Lifting his head suddenly he looked down at her, having stopped.

"You are fast...aren't you?"

As he moved towards her she darted, an instictual and nearly unconscious movement of small paws scrabbling over the dirt and grass.

She had not idea where she was going, just wanted to put as much distance between herself and that... horrible monster as possible. She ran past the tree that was her current 'home base', pausing only for a split second before racing in the direction of the Graveyard. It was far, but if she could make it, she might be able to hide in the bones...

Unlike the last one, Mafujo made for the chase, having nothing better to do to distract his mind at the moment. His pace was slow, not even making the effort to look as if he were trying. Instead, he just jogged in a sense, and kept his blood red eyes located right on her form.

He knew where she was heading, an area of death that he passed by once on his hunt for new prey. Getting the idea in his mind, he decided to taunt her enough, and just waited to pounce until they arrived at her chosen destination.

The young lioness ran as fast as her small legs could carry her, crimson eyes wide and staring around as she went. Where was the best place to go? Would he be able to follow her into the bones? She knew the place well, thought not as well as Duhushi... would the lions there protect her, if she could find them?

Racing finally towards the edges of the Graveyard, the little hyena-marked cub dove for the cover of a giant skull.

He got closer as they moved towards the bones, and as she jumped, he swiped at her hindpaw, his intent to harm her so she would remember to stay away. Though the attack was stretched, and as she disappeared he wondered if he even got a hit in, backing away slowly.

Blood red eyes peered around a moment before his harsh laughter bubbled in the silence.

"Run as much as you want, cub, but I will always know your scent. As long as you wander close, I will always be watching, and waiting for you to be alone once more..." And with that, he turned and moved away, laughter still darkly pooling through the silence as he hoped she would take his words, dispite how false they indeed were.
