Adlai, older but still unable to speak, merely snuggled against his mothers back, where his little carrier left him. His blonde head bobbed every other step or so, silent in his amusement at Kanes squirming.
The kitten mewled, the purple bow in her loose hair tilting to smack against the upright ears. "Yes, yes, food. Right. When we GET to the HQ, we can get out your bottle, ok? Right now it's attatched to me - "
Another mewl, piercing and agitated, cut the redhead off. Then a set of teeth, too pointy and milk-lusting to really cause damage, sunk into the meat off her palm. Cal yelped, using her shoulders to push open the HQ door, nose wrinkling up. "OW, you little brat! Geez."
Once she realized she was about to get her way - food! - Kane settled down, mewling happily and wriggling against her mum once more.
"Let me go! They're killing each other!" Came an alarmed voice just as soon as Callee entered the HQ. However, by the small indignant and impatient quality to its tone, the owner of the voice had been trying to convince whoever they were speaking to for a long time. Longer than they should.
The first thing one might see of this situation was the rather tall, red-haired man clad in nothing more than a pair of jeans. His chest was bare and quite tanned, but a small patch of green plates were beginning to form here and there and even on one of his cheeks. He wore a very dour, smirking expression, and his green eyes sparked with hidden amusement. In his arms squirmed the antagonist- a young brunette lad with a pale quality to him. His hands clawed at the restricting arms, but did no damage in their protective, latex covering. His own gaze was directed to the floor where, in a heap of a dark blue blanket, was a writhing ball of fur.
Two balls of writhing fur, rather, dark brown and tan in color. Squeaks and grunts emitted from pile as one of the weasel-related children reared up and opened a mouth lined with tiny, dagger-like teeth. Another little one rose to meet it, tackling as best it could in its infant state and grabbing its fellow by the neck with its jaws. Squealing ensued, and the two fell and continued to tussle in the brutal-looking clash, making it impossible to tell the two apart.
"I told you, that's how they're supposed to play." The red-head scoffed down at the smaller male, who whimpered.
"PLAYING?! Playing isn't biting someone's neck and trying to smash them!" The brunette moaned softly, finally slumping back reluctantly against the taller. "Why couldn't I just take the docile one?"
"Because. Whats-her-face said not to seperate them and you just HAD to have them because they were SO CUTE. Ugh. p***y. If you didn't like them, you should have done what I said and drowned them."
"Keiran!" He hissed back up at the taller, glaring. "Okay. Let me go now. I'm fine." But, as soon as the arms fell away, he darted forth in hopes to grab one of the two twins by the scruff of the neck. However, he paused. They had stopped, both twins. One flopped over -he couldn't tell which one- on top of the other, suddenly both docile. The two infants stared with curious eyes towards the newcomers, puffing hard with exertion but no worse for wear.
Callee stood there, stock still as she watched the little ball of fur writhe and bite and squeak and smash and - despite it all they were both so damned CUTE.
They were fighting but it just reminded her of Tam. That annoyed her - a lot of things tended to remind her of him, even when he wasn't around. It was still annoying. The man was cute and flamboyant and gave every indication of being straight... save for the whole 'I act gay' thing.
She sighed, head shaking as the two humanoid people duked it out, hugging the little anthro child closer. Kane whined in protest, paws lashing out to gnaw at her mothers wrist, fluffy tail waving in the empty air under her butt.
"So... I take it you're one of the adopters as well?" She spoke lightly, taking a little step around the ferret children, toes soft on the floor. "I... Uhm. My name is Callee."
The child mewled primly, making her mother glnce at her once more. "And this is Kane. Hi?"
Lucas attempted to settle the child in his arms, but Carlton wanted none of it. He opened his mouth and tore at the young man's shirt with gusto, obviously still in a 'playful' mode. The brunette seemed a little too circumspect to touch the ferret, for the long body writhed every time he did as if boneless. Easy to say, he wasn't used to it, and was a little squeamish. After all, it was a scary thing to feel your child's ribs bend so easily beneath your fingers.
"Who?" He blinked confusion and distraught through wide golden-laced, green eyes. "Ah, um, no. I just thought Carlton was a nice name. That calmer one is Frances." At least, he thought it was. The two were identical and he had no way of keeping anything on them to mark them. They had wriggle right out of their clothes and were clad only in a pair of diapers now.
"And they're not rodents, they're weasels," he added with a frown, "Rodents carry all sorts of disease..."
"Here we go." Keiran sneered spitefully at the boy, leaning back in his seat while reaching into his pants pocket. A cigarette was twirled between his fingers lazily, while he offered no help whatsoever to the fretting college student. He only smirked when Callee jumped into the chair.
"... while mustelids are cleaner. They're closer related to a badger or otter." Lucas finished, not even sparing the red-head a glance. His eyes rested on Kane while his arms blindly tried to wrestle Carlton down. Meanwhile, Frances rolled in the blanket on the floor, attempting to crawl deep within the fabric. "Is she okay?"
"She's hungry," Was Callees gasped reply, jolting and putting Kane on the floor for a moment. The kitten had proven herself able to bite someones face off if the need called for it. The redhead busied herself with searching through the diaper bag she'd brought, glancing back up to Lucas.
"Carlton and Frances ARE nice names. Just the only Carlton I know... Never mind." Her head shook, crouching to try to catch the little kitten.
Kane decided to prove her mother wrong by wriggling free of the grasping fingers, teeth clenched over her purple bow. Her fluffy tail floofed up even further, multi-colored frame twisting free of her mthers hands, skirting over towards that wriggling thing in the bundle of clothing.
Callee squeaked, trying to jump at her. "Kane! So..okay. Ferret. Sorry. Please don't bite her, baby ferret - Frances! She's just a kitten!"
"Mew?"
"Oh, I see... That's-" He paused though, watching as the kitten wriggled off towards the flailing bundle. Frances didn't seem to notice for the moment, but he did. "You want me to... just pick him up? I don't think he'll hurt her."
"Too much. Shouldn't hurt her too bad."
Ignored, again. Unlike these new toddlers, Lucas was used to Keiran and his catty comments and less than affectionate advice.
The blue blanket twisted a little more before the ferret's head poked out from beneath it, dark brown and tanned fur slicked back here and fluffed there from the result of wrestling the cloth. Russet eyes studied the kitten, then closed instinctively as the little body behind them rattled from a soft little sneeze that propelled him backwards just a bit. The male seemed to waddle from the blanket on all fours, elongated body the obvious cause for it. A curious sniff was offered to the female when she was close enough.
The woman skidded on her knees, her skirts gaurding her skin from hurt at the floor. She kept her eyes on her daughter (OhgodstamwouldKILLher), body poised to leap at any moment if the Frances-ferret made a move to bite the fluffy calico.
Kane's tail twitched minutely, leaning in to give Frances' pointed noise her own soft sniff, ears pricked foreward happily.
He was fluffy, like her! The other-fluffy-things smell was a little heavier, different from at other things but... The kitten shifted and flopped next to the baby ferret, frame rumbling with weak purrs. He was safe.
"Prrrrrt..."
Callee was still tense. It could bite her!
Lucas was watching carefully as well. He wasn't so sure the kitten was safe either after all. He didn't trust 'cute'. Carlton seemed to notice the commotion now, wriggling more in an attempt to be set down. Of course he was restrained, but barely.
Yes, he could bite her, but he wouldn't yet. Was this new one playable? Did she want to wrestle? She was a bit more fluffy than he and his brother and shaped differently, but she seemed alright! When the kitten flopped down alongside him, he twisted his head and set it atop her back, settling down again.
A soft gasping sound was emitted as Carlton suddenly seemed to go limp, almost oozing from his father's fingers in a drop of fur. Hitting the ground didn't seem to bother him at all, for Lucas had been leaning over when he'd managed to get away in a careful watch of the two babies. Now Carlton seemed to bounce once towards them on all fours and then roll, animating Frances once more. Carlton used his forepaws to try and climb atop Callee's back, snatching at her bow with his mouth. Might be fun to tear up!
The Nozomi
Kane purred even more at the fluffyness with her - he was cuddling! Yay for cuddles! She was fluffed and limp on the little scratch of fabric, bow askew and warm and happy and--
"SQUEEE!" Her voice was a childs shriek as Frances has suddenly moved and the other one had jumped. The kittens bow was gone in a quick flash lavender and brownwhite of the ferret. Kane wriggled a little, pushing herself up but..she was only a baby, after all. Walking was not her forte and, as that, she just wriggled and scrambled as well as she could from the other.
"Kane!" Callee gasped, hands flying to her mouth. Kane could move better then Adlai could - maybe it was part of her being a cat. "Ohmigod!"
The calico in question was about two seconds away from pinning down Carltons head and gnawing at his ears.

The ferrets could hop once or twice on all four of their legs, but not significantly. Their main way of getting around was crawling or rolling. Carlton was trying to do the latter now, bow in mouth while pawing at the calico.
Lucas groaned, obviously beside himself with what he should do. They didn't seem like they were going to hurt eachother, but Callee seemed scared. Maybe he should collect the boys and go... Oh, but he didn't want to stick his fingers into the fray. He knew for a fact his twins could bite, and the kitten was probably no better.
Frances playfully nipped at Carlton's side, who flailed in turn in both retaliation and half-hearted attempt to dislodge Kane. Frances then went for the bow with a tiny grunt, tearing at it like his brother was and trying to take it for his own. It was remove and while he chewed on it, Carlton chattered little grunts at them both while pinned beneath Kane's hold on his head.
Keiran, for one, smirked at the little threesome, reaching out to snag up a messenger bag nearby that either belonged to him or Lucas. From the way he scowled at it as he shuffled through it, it was probably the latter. He dropped the bag at his feet when finished with it, carelessly, while his fingers idly tried to coax the contraption in his hand to do his bidding. The camera was raised before his face momentarily, only a soft click signaling its use. The shutter opened and closed quite a few times as he took pictures of both the children and Lucas' face. He'd take one of Callee too, but she wasn't currently facing him. All of them would, most likely, turn out lop-sided.
The Nozomi
"How can such destructive little things be so CUTE?" Callee squeeked out, eyes wide on the three kits trumbling aorund on the floor. Her eyes went to Keiran then, bouncing back from her heels.
Kane, unknowing of the attention they were getting from the adults, merely chirruped back down at Carlton. He wasn't BITING her so that resulted in...good things! The kitten dipped her head, gnawing and licking at Carltons ear and cheek respectively.
She squealed only when she realized her bow was GONE.

"I um... I don't know?" Lucas offered at almost a squeak, a great breath escaping from him soon after. She wasn't mad then? That was good. He couldn't stomach a conflict; when a fight arose he either ran or spouted apologies while protecting his vitals.
Carlton attempted to roll or shake her loose, obviously not liking either the moisture or her weight. More likely he just wanted to be free to pounce! Or kind of throw his upper body forward- whatever. He also arched his back as best he could while lacking so much muscle.
Frances would continue to tear into the bow for a moment before his attention was drawn to the squeal. He wiggled away from the two with the bow, glancing around as if to see if anyone was looking before he stuffed it into the folds of the fallen blanket. Hiding it or hoarding it, most likely.
"You don't?" She glanced over curiously at the other man. Curls bounced and she grinned at the poor man, the squeaking man. he was cute, in a weird little way. "Are they your only bratlings? Kane is my second one - the other one is a scary little blonde kid. But Tammuz is taking care of him today!"
Callee was way too cheerful for someone whos child was being 'attacked'.
Kane giggled in her little throat, squealing and tumbling to the side. Her tail poofed up, reaching for the bow. Her fingers/paw appendages wriggled, a pout forming at her lips and chin wavering. "Mah!" The child insisted, tail waving ferociously. "MAH!"
